It was a busy week in Genoa City, and The Young and the Restless recap for September 9 – 13 had its share of drama and unresolved problems for people throughout Genoa City. One of the biggest was Sharon’s growing animosity toward Daniel, and Cassie visited in her dreams.
Check out the daily summary recap of each episode below.
At the jazz club, Audra (Zuleyka Silver) saw Nate (Sean Dominic) and Devon (Bryton James). Devon didn’t want to talk to Audra. Nate revealed that he and Audra were seeing each other, which surprised Devon, though he insisted it was none of his business. Devon remained skeptical of Audra’s motives and excused himself.
Meanwhile, Summer (Allison Lanier) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) met at Crimson Lights to discuss their legal situation. They agreed to maintain civility for Harrison’s (Redding Munsell) sake and celebrated reaching a new agreement. Later, they spotted Nate and Audra at the GCAC, where Kyle briefly joined them for a drink before leaving.
At Society, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) discussed Nikki’s plans with Victor (Eric Braeden) and the fact that Adam (Mark Grossman) was running Newman Media. Nikki hinted at something big in the works, making Lauren excited for her.
Billy (Jason Thompson) celebrated a new deal in the Abbott-Chancellor office, but Chance (Conner Floyd) wasn’t convinced it was a good fit. After giving Billy an ultimatum to make him co-CEO, Chance left the company. Later, he told Summer about his decision, expressing his intention to return to the police force.
Lily (Christel Khalil) met with Victor to discuss her concerns about Billy’s leadership. She believed his deal would harm Chancellor and proposed a plan to undercut Billy. Michael (Christian le Blanc) showed up, and Lily declined to give all the details until she got an offer in writing. Lily left, and Nikki came in. She wondered what Victor’s plan was for Lily.
At the jazz club, Billy ran into Devon, and they argued about the company’s future.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor (Judah Mackey) had breakfast at Society, discussing his OCD therapy. Connor noticed Chelsea was distracted by her phone and asked about Billy. She admitted that she and Billy were taking a break but reassured her son it wasn’t his fault. Connor suspected the break was due to his OCD, but Chelsea denied it.
Meanwhile, Nick (Joshua Morrow) confronted Adam at the GCAC, and Adam chased after Sally (Courtney Hope), asking to talk. Sally, however, declared she had made her choice, stating she couldn’t be involved in his complicated relationship with Chelsea. Despite Adam’s pleas, Sally insisted she deserved better and walked away.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) discussed Sharon’s distraction. Later, Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) accidentally ran into Sharon and tried to apologize for her past mistakes. Sharon lashed out, leading to a confrontation with Lucy and Daniel (Michael Graziadei). Nick to worried she wasn’t taking her medication.
Back at Society, Adam joined Chelsea and Connor. Connor believed the family’s issues were his fault, but Adam reassured him it wasn’t. Adam and Chelsea agreed they needed to resolve things to avoid worsening Connor’s symptoms. Meanwhile, Sally tearfully called Billy, asking him to return her call.
At Crimson Lights, Mariah confided in Nick about her concerns over checking Sharon’s medication. Despite her reservations, she decided to go to Sharon’s house to investigate while Nick assumed the house would be empty.
As Mariah left, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) arrived and immediately started venting to Nick about Sharon’s behavior, particularly her outburst at the GCAC involving Heather (Vail Bloom) and Daniel. Phyllis believed Sharon was spiraling out of control. She suggested that Sharon should be checked into Fairview. Nick tried to reassure her that they were handling the situation, but Phyllis didn’t buy it.
At Sharon’s house, Mariah snooped around, hoping to find evidence of a problem with her mother’s meds. When Sharon unexpectedly returned home, she was confused about finding Mariah there. Mariah lied, saying she was there to pick up a necklace for Faith (Reylynn Caster).
While Sharon was in the kitchen, Mariah searched but only found ibuprofen. Sharon returned, apologizing for being on edge, and began ranting about being accosted by Phyllis, Heather, and “that brat,” which left her feeling overwhelmed. Mariah suggested they have lunch and talk, but Sharon declined, saying she needed a nap. Before leaving, Mariah noticed a teddy bear, which Sharon claimed belonged to Faith.
After Mariah left, Sharon took a nap and had a dream where Nick kissed her, and Cassie (Camryn Grimes) appeared, now grown up, talking about her perfect life as a veterinarian. In the dream, Sharon felt content, but Cassie’s mention of Daniel’s death in a car crash left Sharon saddened.
When she awoke, Cameron (Linden Ashby) was there, telling her she was close to getting the closure she had long sought. He promised her a future without pain, where she would finally be whole again, which left Sharon smiling.
Meanwhile, Daniel was at home, checking Lucy’s phone and reminding her to finish her apology letter. As soon as he left, Lucy called Faith, telling her things had gotten weird and they needed to talk before things got worse. Faith eventually agreed to meet Lucy, who complained that she was being treated like a criminal and that Sharon thought she was desperate and needy. Faith sided with her mom, saying Lucy needed to let go and suggesting that Lucy talk to a professional. Hurt, Lucy dismissed Faith, and as Faith left, she advised Lucy not to raid the liquor cabinet and to seek help.
Faith joined Nick at Crimson Lights, telling him she had made it clear to Lucy that they wouldn’t be friends and that she needed professional help. Nick sympathized and suspected Sharon’s erratic behavior might be tied to her projecting her issues. Mariah returned and reported that Sharon had been taking her prescribed meds, but something still felt wrong, leaving Nick uneasy.
Elsewhere, Phyllis met Summer for lunch and continued ranting about Sharon’s behavior, particularly her outburst towards Lucy. She vowed to protect her children and grandchild from Sharon. Daniel arrived and told her to quit, but Phyllis was determined to make sure Sharon stopped harassing her family.
Summer suggested her mother find a job to distract herself. Phyllis was intrigued when Summer revealed that Chance had quit his job and Lily was out at Chancellor, leaving her pondering the company’s future.
At Society, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) discuss closing a business deal, but Diane is distracted by guilt over her strained relationship with Kyle. Jack reassures her, reminding her that they quickly regained their son’s trust and urged her to remain hopeful. Despite their happiness, Diane struggled, feeling their life together may have come at Kyle’s expense. Jack shared some of the blame and hates seeing Diane so distressed.
Meanwhile, Kyle and Audra met at Crimson Lights to discuss business. Claire (Hayley Erin) interrupted, catching Kyle’s attention and prompting Audra to leave in frustration. Kyle and Claire spent time together, discussing Harrison and their walk in the park. Kyle shared that he and Summer settled their custody agreement, but when Claire brought up his parents, Kyle avoided the topic. Eventually, they ran into Jack and Diane at Society, and Claire persuaded Kyle to stay and talk with his parents.
At the GCAC, Chelsea saw Billy. She wanted to talk about their relationship. Billy admitted he’s been preoccupied with work, and Chelsea said she believed in him. Billy said that their relationship can’t continue. He urged her to prioritize Connor, assuring her that his absence was not Connor’s fault.
Later, Billy met with Connor, offering reassurance and comfort, helping him understand that the breakup wasn’t his fault. Afterward, Sally, who observed the interaction, joined Billy, and the two quietly went to the park.
Lily met with Victor to inform him that Billy’s business dealings could harm Chancellor. She proposed ousting Billy, but only if Victor made her CEO. Victor agreed. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) overheard the conversation and was conflicted. Later, Victoria discussed the situation with Cole (J. Eddie Peck), who supported her. Victoria and Cole rekindled their romance despite her father’s warnings, sharing a tender moment.
At the GCAC, Victor mocked Billy about his latest business venture. Phyllis showed up, impressed by Billy’s confidence, and offered to buy him a drink. The two chatted about their ongoing clashes with Victor. Phyllis hinted that she wanted a job at Abbott-Chancellor. Billy was skeptical, but Phyllis pitched herself as a tech-savvy innovator. She pointed out her qualifications and history with the company. Although Billy was cautious, he didn’t dismiss the idea entirely, suggesting they talk further.
As Phyllis left, Nick arrived and warned her about getting involved with Billy, cautioning that Billy’s time at the company might be running out. Despite Nick’s concern, Phyllis remained undeterred. She would rather deal with Billy than an unknown entity.
Meanwhile, Kyle and Claire joined Jack and Diane for a strained family gathering at Society. Diane reflected on Kyle’s childhood, and Kyle became defensive.
He stepped outside, where Audra confronted him about leaking information to Victor. Kyle dismissed her frustration, returning to the table to tell Claire they should leave. Diane tried to engage in a heart-to-heart conversation with Kyle, but he resisted, leading to another argument.
Kyle and Diane headed to the park. He told his mother he was frustrated by the constant need for reassurance, accusing her of making everything about herself. Victor interrupted, backing Kyle and advising Diane to back off.
Later, Diane vented to Jack about the failed conversation with Kyle and Victor’s interference, worrying that Kyle was slipping further into Victor’s influence. Jack tried to comfort her, but Diane remained concerned about their son.
Kyle talked about his complicated relationship with his parents at the park with Claire. Claire reassured him, and they shared a kiss. (Does Claire have some other plan?)
Meanwhile, Audra ranted to Nate about her confrontation with Kyle and her precarious position at Newman Enterprises. Nate offered support, warning her of Victor’s ruthlessness. Despite the tense situation, Audra and Nate spent the night together.
