It was a busy week in Genoa City, and The Young and the Restless recap for December 9 – 13 had its share of drama and unresolved problems for people throughout Genoa City.

Summer (Allison Lanier) surprised Kyle (Michael Mealor) by showing up at the Abbott mansion to discuss telling Harrison (Redding Munsell) about Claire’s (Hayley Erin) new job. Kyle accused her of wanting to take this moment away from Claire. Summer insisted the news should come from them. Kyle suspected Summer’s feelings were influenced by his growing closeness to Claire. Summer denied being jealous, and she shifted focus to Harrison. When Kyle inquired about her relationship with Chance (Conner Floyd), she revealed they were on a break after he arrested Daniel (Michael Graziadei).
Ultimately, they decided to talk to Harrison together. When he joined them, they gently explained Claire’s new role. Harrison was glad he would still see Claire. Kyle reassured him he could share his feelings with Claire.
At Society, Claire shared her excitement about working with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Cole (J. Eddie Peck). They supported her decision but worried about her moving too quickly, especially with Kyle. Claire insisted she was fine, and she said she was grateful for their support.
Later, Kyle told Claire that he and Summer had already told Harrison about her new job. Claire was surprised but appreciated Kyle’s reassurance about Harrison’s reaction. As they kissed, her parents observed from outside, and Victoria was concerned about her rushing into a deeper relationship.
Elsewhere, Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian (Rey Wise) schemed. Jordan fumed about Claire’s privileged life and revealed Sharon’s (Sharon Case) pills had been analyzed, exposing PCP tampering. Ian complained about her sloppiness, but he agreed to intervene.
Meanwhile, Sharon felt guilty after learning her medication had been spiked. Nick (Joshua Morrow), Faith (Reylynn Caster), and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) urged her not to plead guilty. Needing space, she went to the park. There she was haunted by memories and wondered who targeted her. Nick and Mariah vowed uncover the truth before it was too late.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) returned from their honeymoon and shared a romantic moment on the doorstep of the Abbott estate before being interrupted by Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Dom. Inside, they gave Dom gifts from Fiji and shared stories about their trip. Ashley was happy they felt so merry. The couple gave Ashley a present and showed her wedding photos. Talk turned to the events surrounding Sharon’s car crash. Ashley hinted at her ongoing struggles, including nightmares and unresolved repressed memories from her time in Paris, despite progress in therapy.
Audra (Zuleyka Silver) brought muffins to Nate’s (Sean Dominic) place. Nate updated her on his efforts to reunite Amy (Valarie Pettiford) with her son. Audra admired his determination but teased him about his “God complex.” Nate boosted her spirits, and they kissed.
Meanwhile, Sharon and Faith had breakfast at Society. Sharon insisted Faith leave town for safety, but Faith refused. A tense confrontation with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) added to the stress, with Phyllis accusing Sharon of fabricating her drugging. Sharon decided to use hypnosis to uncover repressed memories from her blackouts.
At Crimson Lights, Ian eavesdropped on Nick and Mariah discussing the tampering with Sharon’s pills. Later, Ian returned to the motel, where he and Jordan argued. Jordan clashed with Ian over their priorities. Despite their disagreements, they agreed to focus on their shared plan.
Nick brought candy cane lattes to Sharon and Faith at Sharon’s. She told Nick she planned to undergo hypnotherapy with Alan (Christopher Cousins). Sharon hoped to recover lost memories from her blackouts. Though Nick and Faith expressed concerns about the risks of recalling traumatic events, Sharon remained resolute. Faith insisted on being there during the session to support Sharon.
At the Newman ranch, Michael (Christian Le Blanc) admired Victor’s rebuilt original Newman ranch. Victor wasn’t happy about Jack regaining control of Glissade, and he enlisted Michael to help undo Jabot from within. Michael advised Victor against escalating things, but Victor didn’t care. Later, Nick updated Victor on Sharon’s situation, and Victor offered his support for Sharon.
Meanwhile, Phyllis told Lauren about her doubts regarding Sharon. She admitted that some of her memories of the crash made her doubt Sharon was the culprit. Sharon and Faith confronted Phyllis, demanding the truth. Phyllis reluctantly admitted she couldn’t confirm Sharon’s guilt. Michael put a stop to the argument, and Sharon told them she planned undergo hypnosis. Michael worried his client would uncover information that could cause her legal trouble.
At the Abbott mansion, Billy (Jason Thompson) confronted Jack about changes at Jabot. He felt excluded. Jack explained he’d been secretive in order to protect Kyle from Victor. Jack also revealed he’d outsmarted Victor by acquiring Glissade. Though Billy admired his brother’s moves, he vowed revenge on Victor. Jack warned Billy not to make impulsive, angry moves. Later, Billy met Diane at Society, commending her strategy and asking her advice for dealing with Victor. Diane discouraged vengeance and tried to redirect Billy’s focus.
At the bar, Jack was surprised when Victor approached and admitted defeat. As Jack processed Victor’s unexpected admission, Kyle showed up.
Devon visited Nate, and he was surprised to find Audra there. After she left, Devon asked about Nate’s relationship with Audra and expressed concern about Lily (Christel Khalil). He wanted Lily to return to work at Winters. Meanwhile, Abby saw Lily at Crimson Lights and shared Devon’s worries about her. Lily insisted she was fine and had been focused on her kids, but Abby encouraged her to work with her family.
At Society, Victor insincerely congratulated Jack on winning with Glissade. Later, Jack and Kyle had a talk and apologized to each other. Jack promised to support Kyle and encouraged him to build a legacy he could be proud of. Kyle said he trusted Diane despite his recent doubts. Jack told Kyle he felt concerned about Victor’s potential interference in Claire’s life.
Claire visited the Newman ranch. Nikki and Victoria surprised her with a wardrobe makeover. Later, Victor warned her about the Abbott family’s problems. He urged her to focus on her career. Claire remained confident in balancing work and personal life, impressing Victor. Nikki later reassured Claire to follow her feelings, but Victoria worried about Victor’s influence.
Back at home, Abby and Devon discussed Lily’s situation. When Lily showed up, she shared her decision to return to work at Winters, which thrilled Devon.
Devon and Lily celebrated at his place after she agreed to work at Winters. Lily admitted she wanted to build her family’s legacy instead of someone else’s. They shared their excitement with Abby, who was thrilled. Meanwhile, Nate and Audra kissed at his condo before being interrupted by a call. A PI had a lead on Damian, and Nate invited Audra to dinner with Devon and Lily. She hesitated but eventually agreed, joking that a girl’s gotta eat.
Billy and Sally jogged in the park, bantered about the cold, and shared a kiss. Later, they encountered a distraught Phyllis at Crimson Lights. Phyllis vented about betrayal and hinted at taking down Victor. Billy urged her to let the police handle things before returning to Sally.
At Society, Abby shared a story about Devon mistaking a tiger shark for a shell during their trip, amusing Lily. When Nate and Audra arrived for dinner, Audra faced subtle tension due to her past. She opened up to everyone and revealed her difficult family background. This moved the group, and they toasted to the Winters legacy. Later, Nate praised Audra for showing vulnerability.
Phyllis joined Lily for drinks, and they bonded over past struggles, with Phyllis admitting she could use a friend. Billy approached to apologize, and Phyllis appreciated the support.
At home, Devon and Abby reflected on the evening, speculating whether Audra’s emotional display was genuine.
