The Young and the Restless recap for January 20-24 features a bored Phyllis digging into her bag of tricks, Nikki planning a gala in honor of her husband and his company, and so much more.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Not content with her new normal as an unemployed, single lady, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) spent an entire night stalking nascent love birds Chance (Donny Boaz) and Abby (Melissa Claire Egan) and sabotaging their romantic endeavors one location at a time.
For her coup de grace, Phyllis set off the Grand Phoenix’s fire alarm when she was sure the pair were up to some monkey business in one of the upstairs rooms. But, was it really smart of her to carry the blue dye stained gloves — proof that she was the culprit — on her person? Maybe she was just daring Chance to catch her?
Y&R Musings
Another week, another clue about the Las Vegas mystery. Now we know that there’s a missing “she” who Chance and Adam (Mark Grossman) were involved with and who has been collecting hefty payoffs from the latter. Could this mystery lady be Rizza, the woman who Phyllis investigated down in Sin City?
Speaking of Adam, he’s now the owner of a tech company that specializes in…video games? Wasn’t he just talking about reopening Dark Horse — a company that helped people find affordable housing. Bit of a step back community outreach wise, yes?
“Oh, I have a lot of stories about Stuart Brooks, believe me – although I don’t think any quite as scandalous as the existence of you.” Really Jill (Jess Walton)? How about the time he was interested in your adopted mother, Liz Foster, but dumped her in favor of marrying you, then divorced you for lying about a pregnancy and a miscarriage and went on to wed Liz?
You’re more than a legendary business leader, darling. You’re a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and I want to pay tribute to the man who created this legacy and the family who adores him.” We smell a special flashback-filled anniversary special in Victor’s (Eric Braeden) near future.
Speaking of, someone on the behind the scenes staff is either a really bad counter or blatantly ignorant about this sudsers history. Newman Enterprises will be celebrating its 40th birthday this year, not its 50th. The company was founded in 1980, shortly after Victor stepped down as the head of Chancellor Industries.
Jack: “Theo is family. He has a deep and meaningful connection to our past. I thought you had accepted this. If you haven’t, it’s high time.” A) Of course, Kyle (Michael Mealor) hasn’t accepted it — that would mean an end to this interminable storyline. B.) Has ANYONE informed the Brooks sisters (Leslie, Lauralee, Peggy, and Chris) that they have a half brother?
Can we just go ahead and deem Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) observation that “The more you learn, it sounds like every family in this town has a very complicated story,” understatement of the year?
Raise your hand if you’d forgotten that Connor (Judah Mackey) owes his eyesight to the much-lamented Delia Abbott? The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
