The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, April 3, 2020, actually whisks fans back to April 13, 1984, and Victor and Nikki’s – first – wedding. Buckle your seatbelts newer fans, and get ready for a primer on everything you missed… 36 years ago!
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Even in 1984, Victor (Eric Braeden) was being Victor has he knocked loudly on Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) told Nikki that if she didn’t wake up, she’d miss the vows.
We Don’t Know Her From Eve
Who was that woman lurking around in a maid’s uniform, poisoning Nikki’s brandy? Her name is Eve (Margaret Mason). She is a former lover of Victor’s, mother of his son, Charles. Victor wanted nothing to do with either her or the boy, but he did pay Charles’ school tuition. So how come you’ve never met Charles?
You have. By the time he finally arrived in Genoa City, all grown up in 1993, he was going by the name Cole. And he had an affair with both Nikki and Victoria. And, oh, yeah, he turned out not to be Victor’s biological son, after all — which was a huge relief for both him and Victoria.
Victoria: Moppet Madness
Who is that tiny blonde tot with the big, blue eyes? Why, that’s Victoria! Her hair darkened when she got older. And skipped about a decade of on-air aging.
Face-Off
Who is the bimbo flouncing around the Abbott mansion? That’s Jill (then played by Brenda Dickinson). She used to be married to Jack’s (Peter Bergman) dad, John. They’re Billy’s (Jason Thompson) parents.
And the guy with Ashley (Eileen Davidson), the guys she’s so excited to marry? They never make it down the aisle, so don’t get too attached to him.
Supporting Cast
That’s Victor’s ex-wife, Julia (Meg Bennet). You saw her just recently when she came to tell Victor what a great guy he is for Newman Enterprises’ anniversary. She’s talking to Lori (Jamie Lynn Bauer), another one of Victor’s exes. Lori was introduced along with her sisters, Leslie, Chris, and Peggy Brooks.
The Brooks family used to be at the center of YR, along with the Fosters – Jill’s brother was even played by David Hasselhoff for a time. But then Creator Bill Bell got tired of actresses leaving the show and needing to recast, so he wrote the Brooks and Foster families out and wrote in the Abbotts. And now you’re all caught up! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
