The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, June 2, 2020, continues the classic rerun spotlight on the Abbotts as Jack comes running to Daddy with his long-worked-for achievement, Victor reminds Ashley that he is still the hero, even in defeat, and Nate faces losing another father figure. The episode originally aired on September 17, 1999.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Jack (Peter Bergman) lost Jabot to Victor (Eric Braeden). The coup almost killed John (Jerry Douglas). But he pulled through and resigned himself to the loss. Jack never could. He spent years fighting to get it back, to make his father happy.
Well, he’s finally done it. And now Jack springs the big news on John. Am I a good boy, Dad? Do you love me best now?
I Meant To Do That
Victor (Eric Braeden) lost control of Jabot. To others, that might seem like a loss. But Victor makes it clear to Ashley (Eileen Davidson) that he deliberately let go of the company due to his deep respect for John… and his lingering affection for Ashley. You got that?
Hey Nate — Daddy’s Home
Wondering why little Nate is calling Malcolm (Shemar Moore) ‘Dad’ when he is actually Nate Hastings Jr? Well, Nate Sr is dead, and Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) is now married to Malcolm. Well, not for long. Olivia and Malcolm have some bad news for little Nate…
The Other Abbott
There’s more to the Abbott offspring than Jack, Ashley, and Traci (Beth Maitland). There’s also Billy (David Tom – real-life brother of Heather Tom, who, here is playing Victoria…. yeah, Villy definitely couldn’t have happened here).
At this point, he’s still a sullen teen, angry over being forced to spend the summer in Genoa City, and eager to get back to New York. The only thing he likes here is… Mackenzie. (That’s not going to work out either.) The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
