The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, September 8, 2021, features Jack moping, Ashland surprising Nate, and Abby’s blood running cold when Mariah goes missing (again).

It was a night of reminiscing for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). He and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) ordered take-out and spent the night in the Abbott living room chit-chatting about his love life (or lack thereof). No worries, the fortune cookie told him his romantic life would be back on track soon.
Y&R Recap: A Night For Friends
It was date night at Society with three hot couples hitting the town. Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) joined Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). The couples talked shop, the hospital, and the upcoming wedding. The ladies went on and on about Victoria’s dream dress – a conversation Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) was glad to overhear.
The couples eventually went back to Victoria’s house where Ashland asked Nate a very important question. “Will you be my best man?” Nate was floored. He barely knew Ashland never mind stand up for him. But, who was he to say no (it means a trip to Italy, Nate — do it!)?
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wined and dined Sally, but in a business way and not a monkey business way like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) accused his son of doing. The Moustache tried to warn his boy away from the fiery redhead but Adam never listens to authority so why would he start now? He and Sally had a good little time sipping wine and getting to know each other better.

The Young and the Restless Recap: Abby Lost It
A busy night at the restaurant meant Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) being called into work. Without a stable sitter yet, she relied on Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) to care for the baby. Being alone with ‘Bowie’ was fun at first but soon Mariah was overwhelmed by the fussy blanket…um baby.
By the time Abby got home, Mariah and Dominic were nowhere to be found. She called Devon so they could begin a search party. Devon had just finished pouring his heart out to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about Dominic bringing up a lot of emotions about losing his own child. Getting that call was quite a shock.
All the drama was for nothing, though. Mariah had simply gone for a walk with the baby. Abby made it clear she was on the verge of calling the cops and reporting them missing. Mariah was sorry. Very sorry.
