The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, March 24, sees Nick, Summer, and Daniel try to help Phyllis and Sharon confront their feelings. Billy tries to reassure Sally of his commitment, and Sally notices Dumas texts him. Finally, Michael gives Victor details about Dumas.
What Happened On Y&R?
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) dreamed of being trapped in the clinic. Summer (Allison Lanier) knocked on her door. Summer and Nick (Joshua Morrow) were there, but Phyllis insisted she didn’t need constant check-ins and just had a bad dream. She wanted to be left alone.
Nick refused to leave, but Phyllis said that she didn’t need babysitting. Summer told her to stop pretending she was fine, and Nick urged her to get help. Phyllis insisted the poison was out of her system, but Nick didn’t buy it.
Phyllis yelled that they had no idea what she had endured—not only was she held captive, but she had been trapped with Sharon (Sharon Case). She demanded to know what kind of person would do something like that. She told Nick that if he wanted to comfort someone, he should go to Sharon instead.
However, when she broke down, Nick hugged her as she begged him to make her pain stop. She apologized for being emotional and admitted that her time with Sharon had changed her. Phyllis didn’t know how to process her new bond with Sharon.
Summer reminded Phyllis that she had nearly died, but Phyllis still resented Sharon. Nick told her to let go of her anger, but Phyllis said everyone assumed she enjoyed it. She recognized that Sharon wasn’t a monster, but she believed they were both deeply flawed. Nick had an idea.
Meanwhile, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) saw Sharon eating alone at Society and checked in on her. Sharon admitted that what happened wasn’t over. She didn’t feel safe knowing the kidnapper was out there. Daniel thought it was ironic that their captor seemed to have wanted Sharon and Phyllis to reconcile. Sharon said that she and Phyllis had been forced to save each other, and she could give Phyllis credit for that—even if Phyllis wouldn’t reciprocate.
Daniel asked if Sharon had truly moved past her hostility toward his mother or if she was just pretending. Sharon admitted that feelings didn’t disappear overnight. She was grateful, angry, and confused all at once, which was distressing. She wasn’t sure if her newfound peace with Phyllis would last, but she hoped it could lead to healing. Daniel said that Phyllis and Sharon were on separate paths toward the same destination. He encouraged her to find the positive.
Sharon wasn’t worried about Phyllis. Their conversation turned to Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant), and Daniel admitted he didn’t talk about Heather (Vail Bloom) anymore. As they talked about life’s complications, Nick texted Sharon, asking to meet. She thanked Daniel for their talk and left.
After Sharon left, Daniel and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) discussed the situation.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon was surprised to find Nick with Phyllis and Summer. Nick explained that the two women needed to talk about their ordeal. Phyllis admitted it was Nick’s idea but agreed with him. After Nick and Summer left them alone, he told his daughter that he wasn’t sure what would come of the conversation.
Cracks In The Relationship
Elsewhere, Billy (Jason Thompson) kissed Sally (Courtney Hope) and apologized if he had pushed her away. She suspected Phyllis had needed to talk to him about her experience. Billy assured her he wanted complete honesty in their relationship.
When Sally asked what Phyllis wanted, Billy explained she had wanted to tell him she was committed to the company and thank him for saving her life. However, he couldn’t shake the thought of what might have happened if they had been five minutes later.
Sally worried that this ordeal had bonded Billy and Phyllis forever. Billy reassured her with a kiss. He insisted that he just wanted Phyllis to be at her best for work. He worried Phyllis would struggle to move past her captivity. As they drank, Billy thought about his similarities with Phyllis. He noted that was why their relationship had failed. He wanted to focus on Sally. When stepped away, Sally noticed his phone had been buzzing non-stop with messages from Aristotle Dumas.
Updates
At the GCAC, Michael (Christian Le Blanc) told Victor (Eric Braeden) about their spies at Glissade. Jabot’s acquisition of Glissade would take time, but Victor wanted answers.
Michael asked Victor about his history with Dumas, and Victor admitted they had clashed over business in the past. Now, he worried Dumas was up to something. Victor wanted to ensure he wasn’t blindsided by whatever Dumas had planned.
