The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, January 17, reveals that Sharon nearly escaped, but her life is in extreme danger. Meanwhile, Victor and Adam made a plan while Claire, Victoria, and Nikki made a different plan.
What Happened On The Young and the Restless Today?
Nick (Joshua Morrow) told Mariah (Camryn Grimes) about Sharon’s abduction and the police’s efforts to identify her kidnapper. Mariah struggled with guilt because she suspected Ian’s involvement was due to her past with him. Nick reassured her and reminded her of Ian’s long-standing hatred of the Newmans. They promised to stay strong for Sharon.
In the sewer, Sharon worked to free herself from captivity. Despite her drugged state and hallucinations, Sharon managed to break her chains but collapsed shortly afterward. Sharon’s life hung in the balance.
A Plan
At Society, Victor (Eric Braeden) asked Adam (Mark Grossman) to help take down Ian Ward (Ray Wise). Adam admitted he felt guilty over his past with Ian. However, Victor reassured him it was in the past. He gave Adam a plan for Newman Media to launch a smear campaign against Ian. Adam agreed to assist, though he doubted this would be enough to deter Ian.
Victor vowed to crush Ian, and Adam pledged his support. Adam also said he’d move Chelsea and Connor to the ranch as soon as possible for their safety. He said he worried about Sharon since she’d been abducted. Victor felt confident that their plan would stop Ian once and for all.
Plan B
At the Newman ranch, Claire (Hayley Erin) proposed a dangerous plan to eliminate Jordan (Colleen Zenk — who gives credit to this mentor). While Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) debated the morality, Claire insisted Jordan’s evil couldn’t be ignored. Nikki reluctantly agreed, feeling they had no other choice. Claire wanted to bait Jordan by pretending she had turned against the Newmans. She felt confident it would lure Jordan into a trap. Victoria refused to risk Claire’s safety.
Victor showed up, interrupting the tense conversation and prompting them to hide their scheme. After Victor updated them on the search for Sharon and left, the women resolved to move forward with their plan, but they vowed not to speak of it.
