The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, February 6, reveals that Diane wants to make a change, Claire is determined not to let Victor meddle in her life, Amy suffers health problems, and Damian wants more information about Nate and Amy’s connection.
What Happened Today On The Young and the Restless?
At the Abbott mansion, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) discussed their family. They thought Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) growing feelings for Claire (Hayley Erin) would benefit both Claire and Kyle. However, Jack was concerned about Victor’s (Eric Braeden) opposition to Kyle and Claire’s relationship. Diane didn’t think Kyle would appreciate their interference. She reminded Jack that he had previously survived Victor’s warnings about Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).
Jack wondered if her comment was a jab and insisted that Nikki would remain his friend. Diane respected their friendship and suggested changing the subject. After sipping their coffee, she expressed mentioned the house felt a bit tired and could use some updates.
Jack was shocked and asked if she wanted to redecorate. Diane clarified that she only hoped to refresh it a bit. He recalled when Gloria (Judith Chapman) redecorated, making it resemble a Vegas hotel lobby. Diane assured him she just wanted to make it more comfortable and inviting, questioning whether Harrison (Redding Munsell) should grow up in a museum.

Diane also wanted to have a little piece of herself in the house. Jack wanted her to feel comfortable. She reminded him of her background as an architect. He wondered if her desire to redecorate was because Victor rebuilt the ranch, but Diane assured him it wasn’t. Jack didn’t give her a flat refusal but said he wanted to consult the family.
After Jack left for work, Traci (Beth Maitland) arrived, and Diane shared her new project idea, asking for her help. Traci was surprised when Diane said she had suggested redecorating to Jack. Diane said she only wanted a little refreshing. Traci acknowledged that her brother didn’t handle change well, so Diane asked her to help convince him. Traci agreed that the house could use an update.
New Love
Meanwhile, in the park, Claire and Kyle talked about their happiness. She appreciated listening to Jack’s stories about John Abbott. Kyle mentioned he had heard them many times and that they made him feel like part of something lasting. She was glad he and Jack had made up. They kissed.
Later, Kyle and Claire ran into Nikki and told her about their lunch with his parents. They said that Claire was practically an honorary Abbott already. As they talked, Kyle got a work call and stepped away.
Claire confided in her grandmother about her growing feelings for Kyle, but she knew Victor disapproved. Nikki explained that the ordeal with Ian (Ray Wise) and Jordan (Colleen Zenk) had made Victor more protective than usual. Claire felt determined not to let Victor interfere in her life. She asked Nikki to convince Victor that she and Kyle were good for each other.
Nikki thought it would be a hard sell since Victor was digging his heels in. Claire thought it was unfair, and Nikki worried that she would miss out on happiness because Victor wanted to punish the Abbotts. Nikki had tried to negotiate peace for years, but it never lasted, mostly because of Victor. Nikki said Claire should convince Victor that Kyle was protective and made her happy.
Kyle returned, and Nikki left. Claire asked Kyle about having dinner with Victor.
Mysteries
Elsewhere, Amy (Valarie Pettiford) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) had lunch at Society, where Amy became woozy, causing Audra to panic. Nate (Sean Dominic) met with “Damian” (Holden [Nathan Owens]) at Crimson Lights, apologizing for overwhelming him during their last meeting. Holden was shocked and asked how Nate knew Amy. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) showed up, received an introduction, and left.
Holden noted Nikki was frosty with Nate. However, turned the conversation back to Amy, explaining she used to work for his dad, who was a private investigator. Nate’s father mostly tracked people down and enjoyed solving puzzles but passed away when Nate was a child.
Holden immediately asked more about Amy and why she had asked Nate to reach out to him. Nate suggested it would make more sense if Holden met with Amy directly. Holden insisted he was only willing to hear it from Nate. Audra then texted Nate, informing him something was wrong with Amy, and Nate left.
After, Damian (Jermaine Rivers) joined Holden. He wondered how Nate was connected to Amy and why Nate was involved in the situation.
Audra took Amy to the penthouse and fussed over her. She explained she had texted Nate to come over. Amy worried about being a burden and told Audra how sweet she was.
Laughing, Audra said most people wouldn’t say that about her. As she got Amy some water, she suggested they go on another shopping spree, but Amy didn’t need any more shoes since her time was short.
Audra was sure Amy had lots of time left, but Amy was realistic and acknowledged that her time was short. Audra urged her not to give up when she was on the verge of reuniting with her son.
