The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, February 21, sees Summer turn to Kyle in the wake of Phyllis going missing as Claire seems unimpressed. Plus, Lily asks Victor for the lowdown on Damian while Damian agrees to consider forgiving Amy.

What Happened on The Young and the Restless?

Claire (Hayley Erin) met Kyle (Michael Mealor) at Crimson Lights, apologizing for Victor (Eric Braeden). She gave Kyle noise-canceling earbuds, hoping they would drown out her grandfather’s criticisms. Kyle appreciated the fun gift, and Kyle acknowledged Victor would never accept them as a couple.

Kyle wasn’t surprised by Victor’s disapproval, but he worried Victor’s relentless pressure might wear Claire down. She told Kyle she wasn’t going anywhere. After all, she didn’t escape Jordan (Colleen Zenk) just to be controlled by Victor. Kyle said he believed her. They agreed Victor could only break them up if they allowed it. They vowed not to give him that satisfaction.

Summer (Allison Lanier) interrupted, frantically texting her mom. She told Kyle that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was missing and hugged him for comfort. Claire rolled her eyes. Summer apologized, admitting the situation was driving her crazy.

As they talked about Claire and Kyle’s dinner with Victor, Summer predicted her grandfather would find a way to break them up if he wanted to. She felt sorry that Claire faced this obstacle in her first serious relationship. After an awkward silence, Summer left, glancing back at them.

All-Knowing

Meanwhile, Lily (Christel Khalil) visited Victor at the ranch, where he shared information about Damian (Jermaine Rivers). He explained Damian controlled two companies under the alias “Aristotle Dumas,” referencing The Count of Monte Cristo. Victor suspected Damian’s success was tied to something shady.

When he asked about her interest in Damian, Lily dodged the question. Victor vowed to uncover the truth. After Lily left, Victor called Michael (Christian Le Blanc) with another task.

Forgiveness

At Nate’s (Sean Dominic) penthouse, Damian surprised Amy (Valarie Pettiford) with a visit. She begged for forgiveness, wanting peace before she died. She also hoped Damian and Nate could bond as brothers. Damian said forgiveness wasn’t enough—was she asking him to stay until the end? Though Amy admitted it would comfort her, she didn’t expect it.

Damian accused her of letting his father die alone while she worked. Amy explained she worked two jobs to pay the bills after his father let their insurance lapse. She had been strong for the family, but all Damian remembered was her absence. She apologized, and he admitted he had only focused on his father’s pain, never hers. Damian agreed to let her know if he’d be there for her at the end or not.

Later, Damian ran into Nate at the Genoa City Athletic Club and described his talk with Amy as “heavy.” Nate encouraged him to forgive his mother, saying it would cost him nothing. Damian said he needed time.

Lily showed, and Nate was surprised they had already met. As Nate left to check on Amy, Damian invited Lily to dinner, teasing that she’d have to dine with him if she wanted to know more about his conversation with his mom. She agreed.

Back at the penthouse, Nate found Amy exhausted. She worried Damian would never forgive her, but Nate reassured her. He had seen something in Damian that suggested he wasn’t gone for good. Nate urged Amy not to give up.
