The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, April 22 sees Claire make a bold move that shocks Kyle. Meanwhile, Phyllis spars with Sally, and Daniel confesses his blues to Tessa.
What Happened on Y&R
At Society, Claire (Hayley Erin) made it clear to Kyle (Michael Mealor) that she wasn’t just playing house — she was serious. She told him that she informed her mom and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that she was moving in with him, not just for convenience, but to show Victor (Eric Braeden) that she was in it for the long haul.
Kyle needed a kiss to process the news. Claire reassured him that this move wasn’t about winning over The Mustache. She was falling for Kyle — full stop. She admitted that everything reminded her of him — from puppies to hot fudge sundaes — and she didn’t want to fight those feelings anymore.
Kyle asked the real question: how could she know it was love if she’d never felt it before? Claire had her answer — when she wasn’t around him, it hurt. His annoying quirks were suddenly adorable, and that snore? It was practically musical. Kyle told her he loved her, too, and she broke down in happy tears.
The pair discussed finding a place with a room for Harrison (Redding Munsell), and Claire promised that Victor would come around. Kyle wasn’t so sure, but Claire believed love wins — and she was willing to fight for theirs.

Future Perfect
Meanwhile, at the GCAC, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) pitched herself hard to Billy (Jason Thompson). She wanted Daniel (Michael Graziadei) on board with Abbott Communications and insisted she was still the right second-in-command. But Billy said the job had to be Daniel’s decision, not Phyllis’s dream.
When Sally (Courtney Hope) stepped in just to be supportive, Phyllis accused her of judging her and seeing her as a threat. Billy finally asked if Phyllis was truly in. She claimed she was, promising to give 5000% — even as Sally warned Billy that Phyllis was a ticking time bomb.
Present Limbo
Across town at Crimson Lights, Daniel was still lost in limbo. He told Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) he had no idea what his future looked like. Losing Heather (Vail Bloom) knocked the wind out of him, and pretending everything was okay for Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) and his mom had drained him. The offer from Abbott was great…for Phyllis. But he needed space.
Tessa reminded him he didn’t need to hold it all together. She told him about teaching herself the harmonica when she couldn’t write songs. She even handed him one and told him to play the blues. Daniel laughed — maybe that’s exactly what he needed.
Just as he began to see the light, Phyllis interrupted, pushing again. Daniel gently reminded her that he needed to figure this out on his own. She backed off, saying she’d be there if he needed her.
