The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, April 18, sees Michael tell Diane too much when she confronted him over Victor’s plans, and she thinks he’s helping her and Jack. Victor tells Abby about Dumas, and Amy tells Lily she doesn’t entirely trust Damian.

What Happened On Y&R Today?

At Society, Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) discussed Lily’s (Christel Khalil) decision to sue Damian (Jermaine Rivers) in hopes of uncovering the truth about Dumas. Devon realized the plan might yield answers, but expressed concern that Lily could be manipulated.

Abby felt confident in Lily’s instincts, insisting she knew what she was doing. Devon, worried Lily had already let her guard down. Despite Abby’s reassurance, Devon was skeptical but hoped Damian would turn out to be trustworthy for everyone’s sake. Eventually, Devon said he wanted to head home to watch their son sleep, while Abby mentioned she had to visit her father.

Their conversation shifted briefly to Victor (Eric Braeden) taking a bullet for the family. Devon appreciated it, but he still disagreed with the way Abby’s father handled sending Lily back to Winters.

Warning Signs

Meanwhile, at the jazz lounge, Nate (Sean Dominic) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) relaxed after dancing. Nate wanted to check on Amy (Valarie Pettiford), but Audra’s phone rang.

Victor gave her news about a cosmetics company and reminded her that their deal depended on her breaking up Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin). Audra assured him that it was as good as done.

At Crimson Lights, Lily ran into Amy, and they chatted about Amy’s cancer treatment. Amy mentioned she had just dined with Traci (Beth Maitland). Lily admitted she’d also just had dinner with Damian. Amy asked for some empathy and acknowledged Damian’s flaws. She insisted he had a good heart. Now that he was reconnecting, Amy saw glimpses of the son she once knew.

Lily appreciated Amy’s honesty and sympathized. They also discussed Amy’s battle with cancer, which had changed her perspective on life. Despite wanting to trust Damian, Amy admitted she avoided questioning him about Dumas because she worried it would damage the fragile progress they’d made. Both women hoped Damian could be the man they needed him to be and wondered how much influence Dumas had over him.

Later, Audra and Nate arrived and chatted with Amy. Amy mentioned their shared hope that Damian was trustworthy. Audra offered to walk Amy home, and Nate encouraged Lily to remain open-minded about his brother, which she promised to do.

Elsewhere at the GCAC bar, Diane (Susan Walters) confronted Michael (Christian Le Blanc), asking if he was helping Victor target Jabot. Michael grew defensive and mentioned attorney-client privilege. Diane asked him for honesty, and he admitted he disliked the ongoing feud between Jack and Victor. Diane worried about how far Victor might go, especially concerning Kyle and Claire’s relationship. Michael warned Diane not to take Victor on alone. Diane vowed to protect her family no matter the cost.

Michael pleaded with her to reconsider, stating he wanted to help but couldn’t betray Victor. He insisted he was trying to act as a guardrail, preventing the situation from spiraling out of control. Diane said she hoped he would ultimately choose the right side.

A Silver Lining

Later, Kyle visited Jack (Peter Bergman) for a nightcap. They toasted to a successful day, but Jack reminded his son they might still have more spies to root out. Talk turned to Claire, and Kyle admitted he had shared sensitive spy information with her, which had dampened their evening. Jack was concerned, knowing how hard it was for Claire to see her grandfather’s true nature.

Diane joined them and listened as Kyle talked about how united they were against Victor. After Kyle left, Diane told Jack she believed Michael might still be on their side. She said she had confronted him, and although he didn’t confess outright, he hadn’t denied anything either. Jack doubted Michael’s claims of acting as a safeguard for Victor.

It’s All About Dumas

Abby visited Victor at the ranch. He was happy to see her and asked about her trip to Europe and updates on her mother and Dom. Abby wanted a period of peace, but Victor warned her that a business threat was looming in the form of Dumas. He admitted he had never met Dumas but believed the man was dangerous. He asked Abby to keep him informed if she heard anything new.

As Abby left, Michael arrived and told Victor about talking to Diane. He informed Victor that the Abbotts suspected them, but Victor wasn’t worried. When Michael suggested they withdraw their spies, Victor accused him of capitulating to Diane. “I don’t cave. Ever!” he shouted.
