Soaps are all about family and The Young and the Restless has a number of beloved ones.
From the filthy rich Newmans to the wealthy Abbott and Winters clans, they’ve all endured their share of trials and tribulations in 2016. Be it breakups, affairs, reconciliations or baby “switches,” each brood has endured their share of heartaches and joy. Soap Hub asked which one of the show’s core families you enjoyed most this year.
The Newmans
Over half of you, 58%, cast your vote for Victor (Eric Braeden), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and their ranch dwellers. You enjoyed every story they were involved in from the Sully/Christian debacle to Victoria’s romantic woes to Adam’s explosive death. It’s all been intriguing and had you on the edge of your seat.
The Abbotts
Some 33% of fans were most entertained by the professional and personal problems that plagued the Abbott gang. You found the Phyllis and Billy affair shocking, particularly the effect it’s had on Jack. And Abby and Stitch’s marital split had you crying real tears.
The Winters
Ever since Hilary became part of the Winters clan, it’s been drama with a capital “D.” That’s why 9% of you chose them as the most enjoyable group to watch. Watching her manipulate Devon (Bryton James) is tops on your list, second to her catfights with Lily. They’re the most fun, rock’em sock’em family on soaps.
