The Young and the Restless recap for November 4-8, 2019 features a long con gone wrong, a new family member adjusting, and a return of a legacy character.
The Widow Boudreau (Melissa Claire Egan) — oops “My name is Chelsea Lawson you son of a bitch!”- has found herself going mono e mono against a very prickly pickle in the form of Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), a not very pleasant associate from her late husband’s past.
He is demanding all that lovely (and dirty) cash that Chelsea inherited saying that it was not Calvin’s to give and instead belongs in his pocket. Chelsea tried to give it back only to learn that the feds have seized it.
She tried to explain the situation to Simon and he promised he understood. And since he is a reasonable man he is going to give her a whole 48 hours to rustle up the same amount of moola and hand it over. For added incentive, he presented her with recently snapped photos of Connor and listed his school and home address.
Hoping to scare her problem away, Chelsea had Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) pose as FBI agents but that stunt simply pisses Simon off — and a pissed off Simon is a dangerous Simon.
The DNA tests are in and Theo (Tyler Johnson) is definitely an Abbott — well, technically he’s a hybrid of Brooks and whatever Dina’s (Marla Adams) maiden name was but everybody is just pretending he’s an Abbott.
Everybody that is except for Kyle (Michael Mealor). He is still insisting that Theo is a “manipulative opportunist” out to take advantage of anyone and everything.
Cane (Daniel Goddard) is riding on Cloud 9 now that he has been named Katherine’s main beneficiary. In fact, he’s made a plethora of plans for the cash already. He’s investing and earmarking items for himself and his children.
But, all that celebrating and planning ahead might be for naught. At least that seems to be the case when Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) tracked Cane down, literally kicked in the door to Amanda’s hotel room, and slugged the man who once claimed to be his papa.
Although “coffee cup recap” scenes can be quite boring can we agree that Jack (Peter Bergman) and Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) catch up at Society — where they playfully teased each other about their long-ago political ambitions and he informed her about the situation with Theo — was a truly wonderful moment? The chemistry between those two is still palpable all these decades later.

Just who is the mystery man that has Amanda (Mishael Morgan) rattled? Ex-husband, current husband, family member or a client she got a little too, um, personal with?
Do you agree with Lola’s (Sasha Calle) assessment that Kyle needs to grow up and accept Theo as one of the family? Or are you Team Kyle and agree that he needs to do everything in his power to keep Theo from infiltrating his clan?
Surely, the highlight of the week was Chloe and Kevin dressing up as G-Men and infiltrating the Grand Phoenix, yes? The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
