A man’s got to do what a man’s got to do, when he’s working on a dangerous undercover assignment on The Young and the Restless.
In Dylan’s (Steve Burton) case, it meant having sex with his contact, Alex on The Young and the Restless. It was the only way to win over the man hungry harlot’s trust, after Sharon (Sharon Case) nearly blew his cover by telephoning him. The fact that Dylan’s married to Sharon did present a moral dilemma for him. He didn’t really want to cheat on his wife, but he had to in order to insure his safety and move forward with his mission. Now, the question is, Should Dylan tell Sharon about the affair once the assignment is over?
No Reason to Tell
Of the 4500 fans that responded, answers were pretty evenly split. Over half of you, 51%, believe Dylan shouldn’t breathe a word to Sharon about hitting the sheets with Alex. Number 1, it was part of his job. Number 2, Sharon would only be hurt, furious or a mixture of both, if she learned the truth. To spare her any pain, Dylan should simply keep mum. The bottom line is Alex meant absolutely nothing to Dylan, anyway.

Yes, It’s Still Cheating
Meanwhile, 42% of you think Dylan should absolutely come clean with his wife. Even though he cheated “in the line of duty,” it’s still cheating. So Dylan needs to confess all and let the chips fall where they man. Sharon will have to figure out how to deal with it. She’ll either forgive Dylan, or she won’t.
Maybe, If Alex Resurfaces
The final 8% of you have adopted a wait-and-see attitude on the situation. If Alex turns up in Genoa City after the case is finished, then you think Dylan will have no choice but to level with Sharon about what went down. However, if Dylan never sees or hears from Alex again, then there’s no reason to bring up anything about the tryst to Sharon.
