New faces have been popping up on The Young and the Restless, and there are more to come.
First, Jabot hired geeky computer engineer Ravi. Then, Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) resurfaced as a teenager, and he got a new girlfriend, Zoey (Annalisa Cochrane). There’s also a new photog, Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood), working at Brash & Sassy, and Lauren’s son Scott (Daniel Hall) will soon be heading back to town. Soap Hub asked fans of The Young and the Restless to weigh in on the influx of newcomers, specifically, how do you feel about all the new characters in GC.
I’m Loving It
New faces mean new storylines, say 54% of you. As a result, you’re welcoming each and every one of them with open arms. So far, you’re really liking Ravi’s (Abhi Sinha) input at Jabot and are amused by his crush on Ashley. You’re also hoping Reed’s return brings Victoria and Billy closer. The teen seems to idolize his former stepfather, which is making Victoria (Amelia Heinle) see him in a whole new light.
Whatever, I’m A Diehard
Some 27% of you consider yourselves diehard Y&R fans, so you’ll take whatever characters the show brings on and whatever story turns are written for them. It only enriches your favorite soap to add newcomers to the mix. While you love the vets in the cast and the characters that have been part of the show’s fabric for decades, new talent keeps the show fresh.
I’m Loathing It
The remaining 19% of fans think there are too many new faces on Y&R and aren’t looking forward to more coming in. It’s too confusing, and you’re having a hard time keeping track of who’s who. You’d rather see your longtime favorites in front burner storylines instead of watching characters you barely know getting more air time.
