Victor Newman believes himself to be infallible on The Young and the Restless. Sure, sometimes he goes to jail. Sure, sometimes a member of his family frowns at him.

Young and the Restless Polling

But, in the end, everyone, including the penal system, begs Victor’s forgiveness for even suggesting he might have to take responsibility for some of his darkest actions.

Currently, Victor is doing his darnedest to make it seem like Ashland Locke died in a car accident, and not the hard punch that was thrown by son Nicholas Newman that was enough for the guy to stop breathing. There are…so many laws being broken there. But should Victor have to pay for any of it?

Y&R: Law and Order

Victor (Eric Braeden) tampered with evidence, the 53% of you who are buying his story that Ashland (Robert Newman) was already dead when his security goons got there are willing to admit it. And, yeah, that’s a crime. Which means Victor should be held accountable. Or else what kind of example is he setting for all the people who look to him for guidance on how to live their lives?

Young and the Restless: Ho Harm, No Foul

Nick (Joshua Morrow) didn’t mean to kill Ashland. It was an accident. Just not the one Victor staged. But, either way, no crime was committed. Victor is just saving the city of Genoa City millions of dollars. He’s very civic-minded that way. Either way, since it was some kind of accident there’s no reason for Victor to pay for anything, 32% insist.

Dig Down

But what if Ashland was still alive when they put him in that car, 15% can’t stop wondering. If that’s the case, then Victor committed murder. Now, we’re not saying he should be treated like a common criminal. But maybe one of those frowny face from his family. That’ll be enough for our Victor.
