Wednesday’s episode of The Young and the Restless was all about Allie Nguyen and Diane Jenkins having girl talk, as Diane filled Allie in on her relationship with Jack Abbott — Diane’s side of it, anyway.

Allie (Kelsey Wang) seemed genuinely interested and even sympathetic. Should these two Genoa City outsiders form a bond as they try to navigate the unfamiliar terrain?

Oh, no, Allie, keep your distance, 89% of the audience warns. Diane (Susan Walters) is evil and manipulative, and she will try to make you see things her way for her own purposes when it comes to forming a relationship with your newfound grandfather! Instead, you should listen to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Phyllis only wants what’s best for Jack (Peter Bergman), and would never use lies and dirty tricks or, god forbid, a child to achieve her goals. Phyllis doesn’t have an agenda when it comes to Jack. She’s the good one in this scenario!

The Young and the Restless: I Have Been Changed For Good
Let’s not be so hasty, 8% of you caution. If Diane really has changed for the better, she could be just the friend that Allie needs as she deals with the loss of her father and the discovery of a whole new family in Genoa City. Diane missed many years with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and she has a lot of pent-up mothering instincts. Allie could be just what she needs. And vice-versa.

And then there are the 3% of voters who think it would be good for Allie to hear a non-Abbott-centric perspective. Jack thinks himself completely innocent in the saga with Diane, as if his years of using her had no connection to her finally snapping and deciding to make him pay. If Allie is going to decide to be an Abbott, she should know what they’re capable of.
