Chelsea Lawson finally whined and nagged her way into Billy Abbott and Victoria Newman telling Johnny Abbott that she was his biological mother on The Young and the Restless. Victoria was against it, and Johnny was furious with his parents for dumping such a bombshell on him. But should Chelsea and he have a relationship, nonetheless?
The Young and the Restless Polling: With Limits
Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) should set the pace for any kind of interaction, and 46% are adamant that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) much never try to take Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) place with the boy. She can be like a cool aunt, but never push for more. She’s upset Johnny enough already.
Y&R: Blood Trumps All
Johnny owes this to her, 30% counter. After all the trouble Chelsea went to of drugging Billy (Jason Thompson) and raping him, then blackmailing him to make sure her son could live in the style Chelsea was desperate to be accustomed to, then pretty much selling him to Billy and Victoria – how many mothers can say they worked so hard for their son? Johnny should be grateful and give Chelsea whatever she needs from him.

The Young and the Restless: Neither Coming Nor Going
On the other hand, an almost equal 28% think a relationship with Chelsea would be too confusing for Johnny right now. Victoria is his mother, he doesn’t need another one. And, besides, this is Billy’s son. If presented with two Mommies, you know it’s only a matter of time before he starts playing one off against the other to get his way. You don’t want to leave the door open to that kind of temptation. The boy is a part con artist, after all, as Chelsea keeps stressing. We don’t want him to inherit his family’s bad habits due to bad biology. Chelsea was taught to be one by her mom. Let’s break the cycle!
