He’s been talked about a few times recently on The Young and the Restless so it’s likely we’re going to see the return of Kyle Abbott sometime in 2018.
Soap Hub asked which actor you’d like to see play the part. Here are the results!
Heir Apparent
Over 28% of you feel that the most recent actor to played Kyle, Lachlan Buchanan, should be tapped to bring the part to life once more. The “are they/aren’t they siblings” story never really got off the ground with Kyle and Summer so we haven’t seen the depth to Lachlan’s talents.
He certainly looks like he could be Jack’s (Peter Bergman) son. Why not reach out to the most obvious choice?
All In The Family
A solid number of you, just over 25%, would like to see Justin Gaston step into the role. He’s known to soap fans as the original Ben on Days of Our Lives and also just happens to be married to Melissa Ordway (Abby).
Of course, the show couldn’t make them a romantic pair — they share the same grandmother in Dina (Marla Adams). A vote for Gaston is a vote for the environment — the couple could carpool together!
Where There’s Wil-son
Gaston’s successor as Ben was on the list of our candidates to play Kyle — Robert Scott Wilson, but he only acquired between 8 and 9% of your vote. Is it that you’re not familiar with the actor — who was the first male model on The Price Is Right?
Or do you want him to remain available in the event that DAYS wants to bring him back to Salem? We suspect the latter as Wilson’s turn as the homicidal Ben has been compelling to say the least!
Fresh Face
The rest of you, which is the majority at 38%, say that you’d like to see someone other than Buchanan, Gaston, and Wilson in the part. Perhaps, a newcomer to daytime?
One thing’s for certain, Kyle should be around the same age as Melissa Ordway’s Abby. The two characters were part of a paternity switcheroo involving Jack (Peter Bergman), who fathered Kyle, and Victor (Eric Braeden), who fathered Abby!
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
