When Allie Nguyen first popped up on The Young and the Restless, she seemed low-key, sweet-natured, and easy-going. She was that way in Los Angeles — even when she found out she was being used by Diane Jenkins, and she stayed that way in Genoa city — even when she met her long-lost family, learned that her father had been lying to her, and fell in love with Noah Newman…because she didn’t have anything better to do.

But with the appearance of Noah’s (Rory Gibson) old flame, Audra Charles (Zuleika Silver), Allie (Kelsey Wang) has gotten downright snippy. She even raised her voice once or twice. Do you prefer this new (and improved?) version?

We love it, 90% of you cheer. Audra thought Allie would be an easy target. She figured she’d drop a couple of hints about how she and Noah had a much wilder time back in London than he and Allie could possibly have in the wilds of Wisconsin, and Allie would run off in tears…all the way out of town. But Allie stood up to the other woman and warned her away. This is the girl we’ve been waiting for! A real Abbott!
Y&R: Be Yourself
A little over 5% aren’t enjoying the sudden about-face. What’s wrong with being nice and quiet and classy? Introverts deserve love, too. And if Noah dumped Audra by being Audra, what makes her think he’d like Allie turning into an Audra clone?

And then there is the slightly smaller 5% who have no idea what to think. You don’t know Allie well enough yet to judge whether her outburst was out of character or not. Is this the real her? And, if so, is that what Noah really wants? He seemed to like her just the way she is…was…will be?
