On The Young and the Restless, non-medical professionals Victoria Newman and Nicholas Newman couldn’t find a pulse and so shrugged their shoulders, sighing, “Oh, well, Ashland Locke is dead, nothing we can do about, might as well go outside and get some air.”

Young and the Restless Polling

Once they came back, however, the body was gone. Now they are ever so confused. Are you? Here’s what almost 2,000 viewers told us about Ashland’s current mortal state.

Fake It Till You Make It

This isn’t our first Genoa City rodeo, 64% of the audience laughs merrily. We know Ashland (Robert Newman) isn’t dead. He’s just going to lurk now and haunt Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle).

Although we’re not sure how. If they see him, they’ll know he’s not a ghost, and thus they didn’t commit murder. And if his body turns up, then he can’t testify that Nick didn’t attack him in self-defense. So, what advantage has Ashland given himself?

Young and the Restless Papa, Can You Hear Me?

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) must control everything that happens in Genoa City, which is why 18% of fans are convinced his people moved Ashland’s body, and his kids are in the clear. Well, as far as Ashland is concerned. What Daddy demands in return is a different story.

Who Knows?

An honest 10% has no clue what’s happening on Young and the Restless. Ashland’s motivations have been so all over the place ever since he showed up, that, dead or alive, you no longer know what the man wants or plans.

Bad Y&R Seed

Blame Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), 8% suggest. He’s the son Victor doesn’t give a damn about, so, obviously, he should be the fall guy whatever happens. Either Victor told him it was a condition of Daddy loving him again — though Adam must have made record time, dragging away Ashland’s body, then hightailing it over to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) for a heart-to-heart — or Adam did it to blackmail the Newmans. Either way, blame Adam!
