Mishael Morgan has announced her departure from The Young and the Restless (YR), and the fans saw her leaving town with Devon (Bryton James) for their baby-moon.
Soap characters have a tendency to return from vacation with new faces… or not to come back at all. That didn’t happen with Hilary, though. She’s back this week… but viewers are still nervous and fearing the worst.
Do you want Hilary in Genoa City in the form of Mishael Morgan, or will you take a recast, if that means Hilary can stay? Almost 10,000 cast their votes!
Out Of Sight, Out of Mind
Nah, we’re good, 67% of you reassure. If Hilary were to never return after yet another trip out of town, you could go on with your lives without a second thought.
There are only so many times you can watch Hilary snipe at Mariah (Camryn Grimes), snark at Lily (Christel Khalil), avoid Neil (Kristoff St. John), and either love or hate Devon… sometimes both at the same time.
The idea of Hilary as a mom isn’t too appealing to you, either. You doubt she’d be a good one and, in any case, soap kids are only valuable during the gestation, kidnapping, and terminal disease stage. Otherwise, no one sees them. Hilary can play Mommy… off-screen.
Queen of the Hill!
Genoa City won’t be the same without Hilary, a minority 32% lament! She keeps things lively – and bitchy. Both of those are good things. Sure, the relationship with Devon is kind of seriously snooze-ville, but he’s hardly the only game in town.
There’s always been potential there with Jack (Peter Bergman), especially now that he’s all at loose ends and could use a friend. The show certainly hinted at Hilary and Cane (Daniel Goddard) while he and Lily were apart.
Without Hilary, none of that can happen!
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
