Ian and Victor are heading back to prison on “The Young and the Restless”, but chances are one of them may not be there very long. Judge Russell Gates is making a return that may mean good news for someone.
Fans will remember Judge Gates (David Grant Wright) as Dr. Meredith (Alicia Coppola), and father, a man Victor (Eric Braeden) tried hard to get to know. He’s the head of the parole committee and holds each prisoner’s golden ticket to freedom. According to Soap Opera Digest, Judge Gates makes an appearance on July 22 and one man’s life may be changing forever.
Is a Parole Board Hearing Coming Up?
After Ian’s (Ray Wise) recent great escape antics, surely Judge Gates won’t give him a get-out-of-jail-free card. The evil ex-cult leader deserves a lifetime behind bars. Nothing less than a life sentence in maximum security would justify all his actions.
But, what about Victor? His heroic efforts to save Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) could go either way. He also fled from custody, but he did it for good reason. Will the legal system understand Victor was only trying to save his wife and catch Ian?
Is The Judge Holding a Grudge?
Victor may have made a grave mistake when he threw Meredith under the bus in court. Even if Judge Gates doesn’t see the good Victor did by helping the police capture Ian, will he forgive him for hurting his daughter?
The judge and Meredith haven’t been particularly close, but no father wants to see his favorite girl in pain. Victor used the doctor to obtain many luxuries behind bars and run from the cops. Now, he may have to pay the price for his manipulations.
