The Young and the Restless fans are a bit confused by Elena’s recent behavior. When we first met her, she was a smart, capable, sensible, sweet, caring, and put together young woman. Now, ever since she found out that Amanda (Mishael Morgan) is Hilary’s long-lost twin, and that Devon (Bryton James) has been telling her stories about his late wife, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) has been acting like a complete loon.

She’s been whining to Nate (Sean Dominic) about issues she shouldn’t even be concerning herself with, and second-guessing Devon every time he tries to do something nice. And this was before her and Nate’s latest move. Has she lost her ever-loving mind… or could Elena be pregnant, and thus hormonal? What almost 3,000 of you would like to see happen:
Good News
That would be great, 80% of you cheer! Devon didn’t just lose Hilary in the accident that Lily (Christel Khalil) caused. He also lost their unborn child. Add to that Devon growing up in foster care and the complicated relationships he had with his own biological parents, we know he’s been dying to have a child of his own.

Devon, Elena, and their baby would make a happy family. And maybe it would calm Elena down enough that she’ll stop seeing a scheming Amanda – and a dead Hilary – behind every corner. Which would make life more pleasant for everyone, especially the viewers.
Crazy Is as Crazy Does
Then again, there is 20% of the audience who agrees that Elena is a smart, capable, sensible, sweet, caring, and put together young woman. Who is also super-boring. If Elena were off her head crazy, she would finally become interesting.
You’d have a reason to root for her and Devon – or not to root for them. Up to now, Elena has been inoffensive. Which is not how you become a soap opera superstar. Perhaps her latest move with Nate will cement her status as a woman truly meant for soaps! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
