Jack and Ashley have always had a tempestuous sibling relationship on The Young and the Restless (YR).
Still, it’s never been worse than it is now. Jack (Peter Bergman), desperate to keep Ashley (Eileen Davidson) from the top spot at Jabot, employed the Only Blood Abbotts clause after Ashley was outed as not being John’s biological daughter.
But then, Ashley and Jack’s unsavory mother admitted that Jack wasn’t John’s either. Two DNA tests backed her up. Ooops. Jack offered Ashley the chance to quit working for Victor (Eric Braeden), and start a new company with him.
Ashley turned him down, saying she still loved her big brother… but she could not longer trust him. Was Ashley right? Over 3,000 fans picked a side!
What took you so long, 78% of the audience wonders. Ashley has been untrustworthy for years! Decades! He’s screwed you over multiple times! Well, better late than never. Of course, Ashley is right to distrust him.
(Though she’s wrong about encouraging Jack to work through it and move on, considering when she found out identical news, she had a nervous breakdown, lost her memory, and thought she was a waitress named Annie.)
And, if she’s smart, she’ll keep on distrusting him. And not fall for that sad face he so enjoys whipping out.
Forgive and Forget
What does Jack have to do to get Ashley to forgive him, 21% of you wonder, get dementia like Dina (Marla Adams)? All of her misdeeds seem to have gotten swept under the rug the minute her memory started to falter.
Or maybe he can have a stoke like Victor (Eric Braeden), which brought Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and Nick (Joshua Morrow) rushing to his side.
Or Ashley can be the bigger person and just forgive her brother – without a major health crisis.
