Every year, Kate Linder hosts an OpportuniTea for a great cause — March of Dimes Canada. The Young and the Restless actress enlists several of her co-stars to attend the fun event. Unfortunately, this year, she’s had to postpone the Kate Linder and Friends tea.

The difficult decision to postpone the tea, which was originally slated for December 11, to late Spring 2023, came as Canadians experienced an uptick in week-over-week COVID-19 hospitalizations. Additionally, concerns over rising Flu and RSV illness played into the decision, according to a press release, which went on to advise that “guests who have already purchased their tickets will be contacted regarding the postponement and offered the choice of a full refund, or a transfer to the new date.”
“My castmates and I were so looking forward to seeing everyone live and in-person again next month, but we understand the need for caution so that everyone stays healthy and happy and is able to enjoy a wonderful holiday season,” said Kate Linder. “We look forward to seeing you in late April or early May.”
The actress, who portrays Esther Valentine on Y&R, also shared details about it on her Instagram page, which you can see below. “Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve decided to postpone the annual OpportuniTea to late Spring 2023. The health and safety of our attendees and Y&R guests are our priority, especially heading into the holiday season.” She then included a link to learn more.
Most years, Y&R stars like Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin), Bryton James (Devon Hamilton), and others join Linder at this fun fan event for a good cause. Keep an eye out for details when the Kate Linder and Friends OpportuniTea is rescheduled for next spring because it’s sure to be a lovely time for the fans who go out and support the stars and March of Dimes Canada.
