All of Dylan McAvoy’s hard work is about to pay off on The Young and the Restless (Y&R). He might be trading in his coffee slinging career for a badge and a gun. A new offer from Paul (Doug Davidson) to join the Genoa City Police Department is on the table, and, this time, Dylan(Steve Burton) won’t have to start from the bottom and work his way up.
Paul and the precinct’s higher ups are so impressed with Dylan’s sleuthing skills that the police chief has pulled tons of favors, and he’s ready to make Dylan a top-notch detective.
Dylan is one of the chosen few who will skip the lineup, basic training, and years of hard work and get his investigators badge right away. It seems he did much of the paperwork before, and because of his Army background, and his dad’s influence, he’s ready to jump to the front of the line.
This is great news for Dylan. He’s already been part of all the recent Genoa City investigations and has even broken cases wide open. Now he can be part of everything on a professional level. Not to mention he’ll get to work side by side with his dad.
Dylan has claimed his badge, and after just a few mandatory tests will be an official Genoa City detective. Hopefully, this change in command will mean he police department can get more done and get a handle on the corrupt dealings that keep going down in GC.
