Genoa City will be losing Burgess Jenkins as Billy Abbott in just a few short weeks. The Young and the Restless made the announcement that Jason Thompson will be taking over the role as of January 14.
Soap Shows wanted to know how fans feel about Jenkins’ departure. Will you be sad to see him go, or are you looking forward to another recast? We asked, and you answered with interesting results.
Out of almost 6500 votes, 52% of you are happy to see Burgess leave. His time as Billy Abbott just never measured up and perhaps Jenkins decision to leave is actually a good call for Y&R.
Interestingly, 40% of you are upset the character is changing faces again. Burgess Jenkins did his best to portray Billy Boy and his best was good enough for you.
The final 7% don’t care. No one will ever play Billy like Billy Miller did, so it doesn’t matter who plays the role. To you, it’s Miller or nothing, and you don’t have very much interest in the character otherwise.
