The Young and the Restless alum, Abhi Sinha, who portrayed Ravi Shapur on the CBS daytime soap, landed an exciting new primetime drama pilot on NBC.
Abhi Sinha Reveals His New Role
Sinha took to Instagram to alert his fans that the cat was out of the bag with a screenshot of a Deadline article about his new role on the NBC primetime drama called Blank Slate. In the upcoming pilot, the former Y&R actor plays opposite Matt Passmore and Floriana Lima (ex-Darcy, A Million Little Things). He brings Cornelius Kepler, a tech specialist for Homeland Security, to life on the show.
The last image of his post was a photo of the actor holding up the title page of the script for Blank Slate while on a balcony outdoors, overlooking a beautiful waterway and cityscape. The drama has a put pilot commitment, which means the network must air the pilot, whether or not it gets picked up to series, or else owe a penalty payment to the studio.
Y&R Co-star Share Support for Sinha
A few of the actor’s former Y&R co-stars shared their support. Among them was Ravi’s on-screen love interest — Ashley Abbott actress Eileen Davidson. “Congratulations!!!!” wrote Davidson.
Abhi Sinha replied, writing, “cheers Eileen. Miss you!” Ravi and Ashley shared a short attraction during Sinha’s tenure on the show from 2016 to 2018, but she ultimately put a stop to their May/December romance, which began after she hired him to help build Jabot’s ‘Glow Go’ makeup app.
Others who worked with Sinha during his time in Genoa City, including Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin), Daniel Hall (ex-Scott Grainger), Daniel Goddard (ex-Cain Ashby), and Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) also chimed in with their support.
Although Ravi never got the closure of an exit story per se, he just disappeared from the canvas in Genoa City, presumably, he’s still out there somewhere working — leaving some hope for fans that he could return one day. Of course, if this pilot gets picked up, that day could be a long wait. Soap Hub sends congratulations and best wishes to Abhi Sinha!
