The Abbott sisters on The Young And The Restless may have occasional squabbles on camera, but off-screen they stand by one another! Recently, Eileen Davidson posted some online support for Beth Maitland!
It started with a new storyline on YR that has Beth Maitland’s character Traci spending more time writing and more time with the recently-single Cane (Daniel Goddard). The show is re-exploring Traci’s novel writing at a time when Cane is dealing with his split from Lily (Christel Khalil). A sweet friendship has developed between the two.
Of course, Traci’s mind is going a little further as she imagines Cane shirtless or fantasizes about kissing him, and, while many fans love it (Soap Hub does), others do not.
As usual, fans have posted their opinions on the storyline online and some of them aren’t fit for publication! Let’s just say, they’re not aboard the “Trane” While Maitland says she has no problem with folks saying what they think, she draws a hard line in the sand over meanness.
“I do what they write,” the Emmy-winner posted on Twitter. “I’m an actor. And I LOVE representing real women with true hearts.”
Davidson joined in and said she has three simple words of advice for Maitland when fans are being (to quote her Days Of Our Lives’ character Susan Banks) “mean, mean, mean.”
“BLOCK, BLOCK, BLOCK and just move on,” Davidson suggests.
Maitland then thanked Davidson for her support, which you can read in the posts below. Isn’t it nice to know that the Abbott sisters are close off camera as well as on?
However, Davidson wasn’t the only YR star to weigh in. Eric Braeden (Victor) had his say and Maitland, gracious as ever, thanked her longtime co-star. You can see their tweets below.
The Young And The Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
I respect everyone’s right to their opinion. I respect tolerance, kindness, an open mind, and exceptance. I don’t respect meanness so much. Thanks Lisa for returning us to reality. I do what they write. I’m an actor. And I LOVE representing real women with true hearts. Xxx #real

Thank you, my dear. @EBraeden All is well. Just a little fuss over name calling and misunderstandings. I feel very championed and loved…and am a little tougher than I look. XXXX to all.
