You Won’t Believe Who Finally Turns On Victor On Young and Restless

Could this Newman see through his act?

Victoria understands that Victor going after Billy on The Young and the Restless could be confusing and damaging for Johnny and Katie. That’s why she tried to get her dad to lay off. When that failed, on the October 3 episode, she sat her kids down for a chat, which she invited Billy to. Johnny and Katie were confused. Why did Grandpa need yet another company? And why would Grandpa go after Dad? The answers to those questions might change the Newman family dynamic for good!

Sweet and Sour

Katie (Sienna Mercurri) was the most confused. Grandpa is “so sweet.” We don’t blame her for thinking that. Victor (Eric Braeden) goes out of his way to show his best face to his grandchildren. He takes them horseback riding, buys them gifts, and lectures, like Johnny (Paxton Mishkind), says, that “family is everything.”

First, Victor’s children, then some of his grandchildren — Summer (Allison Lanier), Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu), Noah (Rory Gibson), and Faith (Reylynn Caster) — have seen that Victor is a big old hypocrite. He lectures that family is everything, yet he has no problem using his wife, kids, and grandkids as pawns to get what he wants.

But when Victor’s family calls him on it, or, God forbid, pulls away from his demented version of love, Victor gaslights them into feeling guilty and makes them come back, begging for forgiveness for ever, ever doubting him. (This applies to employees, too, as Victor keeps ordering Michael [Christian J. LeBlanc] to apologize for doing what he had to, in order to keep Victor safe.) This might all be coming to an end.

Contrary Katie

Katie appears to be the first Newman to not just go with the program she’d commanded to. Remember how she was the only one who didn’t fall on the “Claire (Hayley Erin) is the bestest and she’s reformed and we all love her now and shouldn’t ask any questions which might make her wrinkle her face and look teary,” bandwagon.

Well, what if Katie is also the only Newman who doesn’t buy Victor’s “I’m totally good and innocent and noble, and everyone else is out to get me” act? What if she pushes back? What if she sides with her Dad? Victor won’t know how to react. He’ll be stunned. He’ll try to charm her. He’ll try to bully her. He’ll try to guilt her. If Katie refuses to budge, she could prove herself the smarted and strongest Newman. And what if she rebels? Victor will lose his mind! We can’t wait.
