Why Phyllis’ Unemployment News Is a Good Thing This Time on Young and the Restless

Having Phyllis unemployed on The Young and the Restless is never a good thing. She’s hardly up to any good, always running around and scheming in Genoa City. However, her recent dismissal could work well in her favor this time around.

Kicked to the Curb

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) wanted to work at Abbott Chancellor with Billy (Jason Thompson). She thought they would make for a cunning team. Her new gig didn’t last for long. 

Billy listened to his mom, Jill (Jess Walton), and gave Phyllis the pink slip. This came as a surprise to Phyllis. Normally, she would slither her way back into the opportunity she charmed herself into. Phyllis could find a way to reach Jill. 

There’s no doubt that Phyllis is smart. She’s always scheming to get the next opportunity. But she might find herself more preoccupied with family matters. New questions have surfaced about the death of Heather (Vail Bloom).

Teaming Up With Chance Chancellor?

Chance (Conner Floyd) is back with the Genoa City Police Department. His first case is the investigation into the murder of Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) wife. Phyllis is already aware this case has many holes. She discovered that Sharon (Sharon Case) had visited Daniel’s to apologize to Heather.

However, the evidence seems to point at Daniel. Chance feels that he might’ve killed his wife. This is where Phyllis’s unemployment is a good thing. She has plenty of free time to help crack this case. She could insert herself into this murder mystery to get justice for her son. 

Phyllis isn’t the only one looking into this matter. Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Danny (Michael Damian) will return to Genoa City. In an unexpected twist, Christine and Phyllis could team up to discover what happened to Heather. 

Will Cricket and Red finally put their differences aside? Or will Cricket shut down Phylliis’s meddling in the case? Phyllis may find a way to redeem herself in light of the 30th anniversary of her character. (See Michelle Stafford’s Reaction to Thrilling Phyllis Edit.)
