Viewers haven’t seen Esther on Young and the Restless super-often as of late. While she’s still in Genoa City, her portrayer, Kate Linder, has been up in Canada doing charity work! Soap Hub has the scoop on how castmates Christian LeBlanc, who plays Michael, and Bryton James, who plays Devon, helped her raise money for acharity!
Tea for Three
Linder’s charity tea, “Kate Linder & Friends,” raised $50,000 for the Canadian Abilities Foundation’s Canada Cares earlier this month. The Y&R fan favorite and Robin Wyss created the charity events in 1998, which benefit Canadian charities and give Y&R fans the opportunities to meet cast members.

“It was fabulous spending time with some of our sponsors, Jane Jackson, The Flam family and Jane’s friend Lori,” Linder says. “We had a terrific dinner!”
“This is Annette Neufield, one of the incredible Canada Cares One Wish award winners, telling me how much she loves the show at the VIP Reception,” Linder says.
“This event would not have happened without the support and generosity of my buddy and co-host of Global TV’s The Morning Show, Jeff McArthur, and my spectacular castmates and amazing friends, Bryton James and Christian Le Blanc,” Linder says. “I am so lucky they are all so committed to giving back to charity and to meeting our show’s incredible fans.”
“Brittany is an amazing fan,” Linder enthuses. “She has come to many teas. She created a shirt with all of our pictures on it that said ‘Your biggest fan.’ We were blown away! She is truly wonderful.”
“Bryton and I are clearly enjoying how much money we were able to raise for Canada Cares!” Linder enthuses.
“Here I am auctioning off a blouse that my character wore on the Chancellor-Winters set earlier this year,” Linder shares.
“Mira Grondin was our youngest volunteer. We all love her,” says Linder. “She did an amazing job.”
“It was an incredible moment to have Salma Jaffer and Mira Grondin present a photo taken at a prior tea of my late Mom, Molly Wolveck, and me,” Linder says. “They dedicated this tea to her. She would have absolutely loved it. She had been to several of the teas and knew how much good they did. She was also a huge supporter and donated as well.”
