On the September 20 episode of The Young and the Restless, Adam chose to tell Chelsea that he still had feelings for her. She was super offended that he chose to talk with her at Society, mere feet away from Billy, who sat at the bar with Phyllis. She’s not the only one who’s confused. Here’s what is really going on with Adam.

Family Matters
It’s been a weird year plus for Adam (Mark Grossman). He spent forever trying to get Sally (Courtney Hope) back. While she was with Nick (Joshua Morrow), Sally was pregnant with his child, but she lost Ava Hope. Eventually, she relented, and they got back together, but somehow that wasn’t enough for Adam.
Adam seems like he can’t ever enjoy his happiness. No matter what he has going for him, Adam ends up ruining it. He and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan — who just participated in a super soap workout) slept together, ruining the thing he’d tried to reclaim for so long…his life with Sally.
Now, Adam, seemingly out of the blue, told Chelsea he has feelings for her. He claimed he couldn’t shake the “more” that was between them that night in Baltimore. This just doesn’t ring true. We never saw Adam pining after Chelsea, and the morning after, he seemed horrified. At best, they’d started to tolerate each other for the sake of co-parenting Connor (Judah Mackey). Adam telling Chelsea he wanted to explore a potential reunion is a lot.
What’s Going On?
We suspect that losing Ava made Adam want to spend more time as a family man. When Connor had such a tough time, he realized how much he’d lost not being a full-time dad. Because of that, it seems that Adam thinks reuniting with Chelsea is the best way for him to have a family at this point in his life. Perhaps he’s right.
