On the April 30 episode of The Young and the Restless, Chelsea wasn’t sure if she wanted to leave Marchetti to go work with Adam, while Sally wasn’t sure if she wanted to leave Marchetti to go work with Billy. Here’s why this pair should switch partners — and dance!
Everything is Fine
When Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) first reunited, we wondered what the point was — and where the drama would be? And when Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy (Jason Thompson) got together, we shrugged and said OK, well, that might as well happen.
It seems now that Y&R expects the excitement to come from these two ill-matched couples working together, and workplace wackiness ensuing. Nothing more exciting than watching hot, messy, sexy people looking over balance sheets. We have a better idea.
Criss Cross Applesauce
Wouldn’t it be more fun, however, if this quad was shaken up? If Sally went to work with Adam (like they have in the past), and Chelsea went to work with Billy (ditto)? Now we’d actually have the possibility for some real drama, not only because they’d be professional rivals, not only because Victor (Eric Braeden) would obviously have a lot to say about loyalty and obligation and all of his usual Victorian mumblings, but because we all know what proximity leads to!
After all, Adam had sex with Chelsea because she was…there. (Yes, yes, yes, they were both of, so worried about Connor [Judah Mackey]. But also, they were there. And Billy and Chelsea were not.) Now, instead of two boring couples, we’d have a potentially exciting quadrangle.
Fifth Party
Throw Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and her Billy obsession into the mix, especially her need to cause trouble for Sally, in particular, and now we’ve got a story! Make it happen, Y&R!
