On the Wednesday, May 29 episode of The Young and the Restless, Jill told Billy that she was being treated for her health problems by her brother, Snapper in London. So, what happened to Snapper Foster?
Dr. Snapper Foster
Snapper, aka William Foster Jr., is a physician portrayed at first by William Gray Espy and later by David Hasselhoff. Snapper’s parents were Elizabeth (Julianna McCarthy) and William “Bill” Foster Sr. (Charles H. Gray). His siblings are Jill (Jess Walton, who asked viewers for help) and Greg Foster (Wings Hauser). After his residency at Genoa City Memorial Hospital, he started a free clinic in Genoa City.
Snapper is a member of one of the original Y&R core families. As a doctor, Foster was known for his strong sense of responsibility and dedication to his family. In the soap’s early years, his character was central to many storylines as he worked to balance his professional and personal lives.
Currently, Snapper is in London, which is where Jill said she was when she gave Billy (Jason Thompson) the vague details of her health concerns. Presumably, Snapper is still married to Chris Brooks Foster, who was another member of the soap’s original core families before they switched to the Abbotts, Newmans, and Chancellors.
The last time Snapper showed up in Genoa City was in 2010 when he helped their mother, Liz, return to see Jill. During that storyline, Snapper diagnosed their mother with Wegener’s disease – a rare, autoimmune disease. Snapper also shared a shocking revelation during his time back in town. He told Jill that her real father was Neil Fenmore. Of course, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) didn’t believe it, but a subsequent DNA test proved the story true.
Does this recent mention of Snapper mean we might see him pop up in Genoa City soon? Perhaps. Stranger things have happened. Would you like to see the doctor return? Let us know in the comments below.
