CBS recently announced exciting news about Devon and Abby’s upcoming wedding on The Young and the Restless. And this isn’t anything that Victor Newman can control. Devon’s mother, Harmony/Yolanda, and half-sister, Ana, are headed back to Genoa City for the festivities. Since Ana hasn’t stepped foot in the town since she left five years ago, let’s refresh our memories of the character.
Devon’s Younger Sibling
While Jamia Simone Nash originally played Ana Hamilton, actress Loren Lott stepped into the role in 2018. Since leaving Y&R in 2019, Lott has guest-starred on the Ava Duvernay series Cherish the Day and the CW’s All-American Homecoming. Plus, she’s starred in TV movies like Praise This, A Wesley Christmas, and A Wesley Christmas Wedding.
Ana Hamilton is Devon’s (Bryton James) younger half-sister. The two had rough childhoods thanks to Yolanda (then Debbi Morgan), their biological mother, who was addicted to crack. Her adoptive aunt, Tyra (Eva Marcille), raised Ana, while Devon’s grandmother raised him before her joined the Winters family.
As a 12-year-old, Ana dealt with the drama between Tyra and Karen (Nia Peeples), Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) girlfriend at the time. They both wanted to raise Ana. When a custody battle erupted, Neil realized that the best woman to raise Ana was Tyra, even though she turned out not to be a Hamilton. Tyra and Ana eventually left town.

Ana, the Young Adult
Ana eventually returned to Genoa City as a young adult. Neil had enlisted her help in supporting Devon, who experienced immense tragedy. He desperately struggled after losing the love of his life, Hilary (Mishael Morgan), in the car accident that sent Lily (Christel Khalil) to prison. Even when she was younger, Ana was musically inclined. In fact, back in the day, she sang at Lily and Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) wedding as well as Katherine Chancellor’s (the late Jeanne Cooper) wedding to Murphy (Michael Fairman)
After she became Devon’s assistant at Hamilton-Winters, she learned the ropes of music production. And she became good at it. She helped produce acts like Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) as well as Lauren and Michael’s son Fenmore Baldwin (Zach Tinker). Drama, of course, got in the way with both acts. Plus, Devon found out all the money she was making went to help treat her sick father, former superstar Jett Slade (Gilbert Glenn Brown).
After Neil’s death, Ana sang a beautiful rendition of “Amazing Grace” at his funeral. Ultimately, the singer/songwriter/music producer left town even though she had become co-head of LP Streaming. Conflicts between Devon and Ana escalated when he hired Theo Vanderway (Nic Luken/Tyler Johnson) to become her boss. So she left to join her dad on the road.

The Present
Lott and the actress who plays her TV mom, Chene’ Lawson (Harmony, aka Yolanda Hamilton), will return to their Y&R roles starting Wednesday, November 13. This just so happens to be the number one soap’s milestone 13,000th episode. What’s great is that the women will stick around for a few episodes, so they should really be a big part of the festivities.
We will see how they react to any of the drama that materializes at the wedding or because of the wedding. Bryton James (Devon) recently hinted at what could happen at the much-anticipated event.
