On The Young and the Restless, spoilers for the week of August 5 – 9 focus on Sally having a painful memory, Lily second-guessing her choices, and Phyllis pushing Diane’s buttons…again.
Lately, Sally (Courtney Hope – find out about her inspiring rescue story here) has been preoccupied with Adam (Mark Grossman) and his issues. It’s understandable, considering what he’s been going through with his son. She tries to be there for him and has done a lot of listening and supporting.
Now, the shoe is on the other foot. When Sally remembers a painful moment from her past, it’s Adam’s turn to show up for his significant other. And he does when Adam comforts Sally. Hopefully, he’ll be able to shove his wayward thoughts about cheating on Sally aside so he can care for the woman he loves.
Suddenly, Lily (Christel Khalil) is second-guessing her alliance with Billy (Jason Thompson). SHOCKER. This is something she maybe should have done when he first insisted on Abbott coming first when he changed the company name to Abbott-Chancellor. Sure, he corrected the logo, but when someone shows you who they are, believe them.
So what’s Lily going to do when Billy apparently switches gears with her? What does this even mean? Does he want to sideline her opinions? Or does he want to elevate them? Is he no longer interested in teaming up with her? Does he think running Abbott-Chancellor is better as an individual sport? Should Lily watch her back?
Here’s one for the romance department — look for Jack (Peter Bergman) to romance Diane (Susan Walters). Sounds like a nice reprieve from the doom and gloom they’ve been contending with lately. Unfortunately, Diane will also have to contend with her fierce rival, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). That woman sure knows how to push Diane’s buttons. She’s about to hard-core do just that.
Genoa City residents face more problems, specifically Claire (Hayley Erin), Kyle (Michael Mealor), and Summer (Allison Lanier — the connection she thinks makes a difference on the show). In fact, Claire causes problems for the exes. Is this happening consciously, or is this accidental behavior?
Poor Sharon (Sharon Case — is this the twist nobody saw coming?). She can’t escape the Cameron (Linden Ashby) she conjured up in her head. Terrifyingly, he continues to haunt her. Plus, Phyllis doesn’t just push Diane’s buttons. The busy woman also manages to lose patience with Sharon. Right now, Sharon can’t catch a break. How will she react to Phyllis? This is a valid concern because her reactions haven’t exactly been balanced as of late.
