In the soap opera world, villains often steal the spotlight, and when you pair two scene-stealers like Ray Wise and Colleen Zenk on The Young and the Restless, sparks—and vodka—are bound to fly. We sat down with the dynamic duo to discuss their on-screen chemistry, behind-the-scenes antics, and what’s next for Genoa City’s most diabolical tag team.
When asked about joining forces as Ian and Jordan, the actors revealed that their collaboration felt like destiny. “We never met before,” Zenk admitted. Wise chimed in with his signature humor: “She exploded on my sensibilities all at once. And immediately, I recognized her as my kind of actor—creative and just a bit…dangerous.” Their mutual admiration set the stage for a partnership that Zenk described as “magic,” adding, “It’s rare to find this kind of theatrical journey on TV.”

Fans were treated to a tense moment between Ian and Jordan when he teased her with a bottle of vodka, much like Victor (Eric Braeden) did with her all those months ago vodka—ending with Jordan hurling the bottle at Ian.
“Oh yeah, I remember that,” Wise chuckled, though Zenk confessed, “I film so many pages a day, I didn’t even recall it until you brought it up!” Such scenes exemplify the duo’s knack for keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. Wise teased their characters’ volatile relationship: “Let’s just say, when two villains share one motel room, things get…complicated. There’s only one bed, after all.”
Ian and Jordan have taken their scheming beyond the motel, donning disguises to infiltrate Genoa City. One standout moment involved Ian at Crimson Lights, where he had his eye on Mariah. When asked about future encounters, Wise’s mischievous grin said it all: “I like giving the business to everyone. Ian doesn’t play favorites.”
Meanwhile, Zenk’s Jordan isn’t hiding her disdain for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), especially as he’s wooed her beloved Claire (Hayley Erin). “Jordan is fiercely loyal. She was Claire’s world, and now she’s been replaced by an Abbott? Unacceptable!” Zenk declared, hinting at some juicy drama on the horizon.
When asked about redemption, the actors laughed off the idea. “Redemption? For Ian Ward? Not likely,” Wise quipped. “We’re more focused on retribution. Everyone in Genoa City should watch their backs.” Zenk playfully added, “Retribution sounds way more fun.”
The pair even mused about a spin-off series starring Ian and Jordan. “We’d call it Old and Restless,” Wise joked. “But honestly, whatever storyline lets me work with Colleen is fine by me.”
For now, fans can look forward to more drama, deception, and dark humor from Genoa City’s most sinister duo. As Zenk put it, “We’re just getting started.”
