Could The Great Victor Newman Really Be Dead On The Young and the Restless?

He’s The Great Victor Newman and somehow he’s now…dead? That doesn’t seem possible. That doesn’t even seem probable. After all, if Eric Braeden were leaving The Young and the Restless, we’d expect he’d do it with a lot more fanfare than this.

So, what really did happen to Victor? Well, we’re not quite sure, but it seems pretty logical that he faked his death, right? After all, he’s done it before like so many soap characters before him, but how did he do it?

It seems pretty logical and straightforward to us. This is what we saw happen: Adam (Mark Grossman) stole Nate’s (Sean Dominic) tablet. Nate knew Adam stole his tablet. Nate guessed he wanted to see Victor’s medical records.

Victor started having more side effects from his meds. Nate ran blood tests. Victor and Nate went off alone together to discuss those blood tests. The family was called. Victor and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) announced they were leaving town for more intense treatment. Victor collapsed dead.

Did we see Victor declared dead? Did we see his body hauled away from The Ranch? Nope. And nope. None of that happened. We toyed for a moment with this all being Adam’s nightmare, but then the show ended without Adam waking. So, a faked death is the only explanation for what seems like the impossible — a dead Victor.

Is Nikki in on this? Are Nick (Joshua Morrow), Summer (Hunter King), and Abby (Melissa Ordway) in on it, too? Did they do this just to scare Adam and get him to confess what he did? Or, is Victor cruel enough to let his family mourn for him just to stick it to his youngest son? We can’t see Nate being this cruel to Abby, so maybe they do know.

Or maybe the impossible really did happen and Victor Newman is really dead after all. Stay tuned to find out. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
