Tristan Lake Leabu is a Daytime Emmy nominee for Outstanding Younger Leading Actor in a Drama Series this weekend for his role as Reed on The Young and the Restless, but the actor is about to vacate his role on the show.
According to published reports, Leabu has shot his last scenes with Y&R so it looks like Reed’s plans to go to boarding school come to fruition and really do usher the actor off the show.
Leabu joined the soap in January of 2017 as the son of J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle).
During Leabu’s tenure, the character went through standard teen angst, arguing with his mother over parental boundaries.
Reed also got into hot water after downloading some porn and driving while intoxicated.
Reed interacted with fellow teens Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and the trio came into conflict after Reed’s mother, Vicky, fired the twins’ dad Cane (Daniel Goddard) from his job. Over time, the three stopped interacting.
When he had trouble with his mother, Reed would turn to ex-stepdad Billy (Jason Thompson) for advice and support.
The real-life musical actor performed guitar and sang songs on the show at the Underground. And Leabu performed in last year’s opening musical number at the 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
Reed got more airtime when J.T. returned to the canvas. It appears Reed was unaware of his father’s more aggressive tendencies towards Mac (Kelly Kruger) and his mother.
More recently, Reed’s been in turmoil after being told that his father was abusive and attacked Victor (Eric Braeden).
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
