On the January 28 episode of The Young and the Restless, Billy decided he would start a new business. Did he think about what people actually needed? Did he think about a product people want? Did he think about what has the possibility of turning a profit or where he actually has any skills? Nah, Billy went full Billy and only focused on what he needed, what he wanted, and what he thought he was good at.

Billy (Jason Thompson) decided he was good at media. He enjoyed doing a web series and a podcast. Were they successes? Obviously not, since he is not still doing them.
But this is all about Billy’s feelings. He’s rich. He doesn’t need to consider other people or even revenue. That’s exactly what Jill (Jess Walton) took Abbott-Chancellor away from him, but Billy also doesn’t need to learn his lesson. Ever. Because he’s rich. (Still.)

Gather the Usual Suspects
So Billy is starting a media company! Yay! Victor (Eric Braeden) and Adam (Mark Grossman) are probably shaking in their boots. (Billy thinks.) But he can’t do it alone. (Billy thinks he can, but somebody needs to fill out the paperwork and make the copy, so he’s open to hiring a few people.)

Sally (Courtney Hope) will likely drop her dream job to come and support her man. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), obviously. And she’ll bring Daniel (Michael Graziadei) along. Billy should have no trouble convincing Kyle (Michael Mealor) that he’ll have more opportunities working with Billy, and they’ll both be able to prove to Jack (Peter Bergman) that they are totes smarter than him.
Even Lily (Christel Khalil) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) might recognize Billy’s genius and leave their steady jobs for his latest folly. In the end, their careers will be ruined. But Billy will come out smelling like a rose. Because he’ll know it was all their fault. Not his. Like usual.
