An Emotional Farewell to Burgess Jenkins as Y&R’s Billy

The Young and the Restless fans witnessed an emotionally-charged January 5 episode this week and didn’t even realize it was the last time they’d see Burgess Jenkins in the role of Billy.

The Abbotts begged Billy to stay alive just as the actors said their goodbye to the man who’s played Billy for a year. Jenkins’s stay on Y&R wasn’t very long, but his co-stars always speak highly of him. When he announced his departure from the soap in November, his TV family took to social media to show their support.

According to the January 18th issue of Soap Opera Digest, Genoa City saw the last of Jenkins the other day. That’s why Billy’s face has been strategically obstructed in all recent hospital room scenes.

To honor that emotional day, Soap Shows tracked down the most dramatic scenes from the episode. Jason Thompson takes over the role on January 13th.
