Eileen Davidson has been on The Young and the Restless for over 40 years and she was on Days of our Lives portraying several characters for a while, but now she has even more on her plate — a very special milestone to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, Eileen Davidson
That’s because she was born on June 15, 1959, in Artesia, California, which means this talented performer is turning 65 years old today! She started her career as a model, but Davidson made a concerted effort to pursue work as an actress.
Her early credits include the films Goin’ All the Way, The Phoenix, and the slasher classic The House on Sorority Row. In March 1982, Davidson joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in the role of Ashley Abbott.
She remained at the CBS soap until December 1988, at which point she turned her attention back towards film work (Easy Wheels and Eternity) — and she also accepted a starring role in the primetime series Broken Badges.
In 1991, Davidson returned to daytime. But rather than reprise her role at Y&R, she assumed the part of Santa Barbara’s Kelly Capwell. Two years later, she was hired to portray Kristen DiMera on Days of our Lives.
Over the next five years, Davidson also gave life to Susan Banks (Kristen’s bucktoothed double) and that woman’s menagerie of siblings (including a brother, Thomas). After exiting the role, Davidson soon returned to Y&R and the role of Ashley.
For a time, she played the same character on sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful, though she eventually returned to Y&R, where she has appeared on a recurring basis ever since.
Outside of her acting, Davidson is also known for her writing (she is the co-author of four mystery novels) and her work on the reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
