The Young and the Restless stars Tracey Bergman and Christian Jules Le Blanc have been married onscreen for 15 years, but how much do they really know about each other? The two Daytime Emmy-winners interviewed each other and shared that talk on the show’s official Twitter account.
Real Talk With The Young and the Restless Stars
“We’ve made it to 12,000 (episodes)…now, we can say anything we want,” chuckled Le Blanc who has played Michael since 1991. To his TV wife, he asked, “You’ve been on for how many years?”
“I rode a Pterodactyl into the parking lot,” quipped Bregman, adding her premiere year on YR was 1983.
Le Blanc wanted to know if Bregman being raised in a show business family — her mother is actress Suzanne Lloyd and her late father Buddy Bregman was in the music business.
“I learned my work ethic from my parents,” Bregman replied. “When I was about 12, I was working with my dad holding his script [for him when he] was doing a pilot. He had all these teenagers working with him. They were having so much fun! I thought, ‘Hmmm. Maybe I should try that.'”
Today, Tracey Bregman says she enjoys being able to share with her mom (who was riding in the car during the interview) about her work. “It’s so lovely to talk to someone who understands the whole process and can help me along,” she says. “It’s invaluable…and is great to share that with my mom.”
Le Blanc also joined daytime in 1983 when he was cast as Kirk McColl on As the World Turns. He shared that his foray into acting was “all a failed attempt to pay for medical school.”
After Bregman shared that she once had an interest in becoming a veterinarian, her TV mate joked, “We could have opened up our own clinic.”
When working at the CBS studio in New York at ATWT, LeBlanc says he experienced an enlightening moment when he asked a fellow thespian in Oakdale why she was an actor. “She said, ‘I just want one place to be, honest.'”
Asked by Bregman what one of his more memorable stories was, he replied it was the one that first helped bring their characters together after Lauren paid for Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart) bail. “I still get emotional,” Le Blanc said.
The two thanked each other for doing the interview, which can be seen in its entirety below. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
