The Young and the Restless isn’t the only place Zach Tinker can be seen this week. Not only is the actor returning to the CBS soap opera as Fenmore Baldwin, but he’s got a role in a new web series, Happy Hazel, which examines the connection people have to social media and how expectations can feel unreachable.
Zach Tinker: New Project
“The trailer for Happy Hazel is here,” Tinker posted on Instagram. “This project is more relevant than ever, and explores the impact and possible harm social media can have on our lives; an issue I know only too well. Check it out [here].”
On the series IMDB page, the show is described as such: “With over 11 Million subscribers and 3 billion plus views and counting, HappyHazel is always on, and always ready to make someone happy.
“But when the camera is off, Hazel Rybicki (Sabrina Haskett) is becoming a stranger in her own life, that is until she finds the one guy who’s never heard of her – and keeps away from all things Internet – drive-thru worker Keith (from Ohio).” Tinker plays Keith. The series also stars Jaylee Chen as Penny and Caleb Pierce as Austin Rybicki.
In the first episode, Hazel encounters Keith at his place of work. He makes an impact on her as Hazel grapples with whether or not being a social media star is truly bringing her happiness. Keith imparts some powerful words on Hazel that sets the stage for the next episode and possibly the rest of the series.
Haskett’s credits include being a contestant on American Idol in 2014. Tinker is known to soap fans for his turn as Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) son, Fenmore. The character returned to Genoa City at the beginning of the year, having just completed rehab. Off-screen, Tinker’s been linked romantically to Cait Fairbanks (Tessa).
No word yet on what’s bringing Fenmore back to the story canvas, but his Uncle Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Aunt Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) are expecting a baby. Perhaps he’s on his way to share in the joy once the newest family member arrives! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
