On The Young and the Restless, Mark Grossman plays a troublemaker who appears to always be looking for his place in the Newman family. In the real world, TV’s Adam Newman is a laidback thespian who is celebrating a major milestone.
That’s because he was born on February 3, 1987, in Columbia, Maryland, which means that this talented actor turns 37 years old today! Despite playing the eponymous monster in his middle school’s production of Beauty and the Beast, Grossman had no real desire to be a performer.
Instead, he wanted to be a motocross racer, and he did compete in the sport, for a time, at the semi-pro level. However, he eventually turned his talents to selling insurance over the phone and, much later, modeling.
Photo assignments eventually led to acting roles. Initially, Grossman was offered only short films — Choices Made, The Snow Globe, Maybe Tomorrow, and The Stranger to name but a few — but he eventually found himself cast in features such as ABC’s of Death 2, Silent Hill: Internal Prison, Entourage, and Break-Up Nightmare.
He also appeared in a number of made-for-television movies, usually cast as the villain. Among the many are The Other Wife, Stalked By My Doctor: The Return, Double Mommy, and Babysitter’s Nightmare.
Grossman also found work on television programs like Hustle and Famous In Love. In 2019, he was hired to take over the role of The Young and the Restless’ much-recast Adam Newman.
