As Faith, Alyvia Alyn Lind was bullied by mean classmates. Now, The Young and the Restless star is taking on a new series in which she’s going to be doing the bullying.
Alyvia Alyn Lind Takes On New Role
Deadline reports that Lind along with Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Teo Briones (Ratched), and Björgvin Arnarson (The Seventh Day) have been cast as series regulars and the teen leads in Chucky, set to air on the USA Network and Syfy.
Based on the horror movie franchise, created and written by Don Mancini, Chucky will feature Jennifer Tilly, reprising her big-screen role as Tiffany Valentine. Tilly and Devon Sawa (Final Destination) will recur on the series, but Sawa’s role is being kept under wraps for now.
This new series will deal with the red-haired doll that is possessed by the soul of a serial killer, Charles Lee Ray. In the show, a vintage Chucky doll pops up at a yard sale, throwing an idyllic American town into trouble as a series of murders start to take place, shining a light on the hypocrisies and secrets. Friends and foes from Chucky’s past will complicate matters.
Lind’s character is Lexy Taylor, the self-appointed princess of her school. She bullies the character of Jake, played by Arthur, who is a loner trying to find his place in the world following his mother’s death. Lexy dates Jake’s cousin, Junior, played by Briones.
The series is executive produced by Mancini and producer David Kirschner, Harley Peyton along with Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund. The show’s production is set to get underway in Toronto.
No word yet on how this will affect Lind’s screen-time as Faith. In the past, the show has worked with Lind’s schedule, which has allowed her to take on other projects but has also enabled the actress to reprise Faith.
