The Young and the Restless (YR) has added veteran soap opera exec Lisa de Cazotte to its team of producers. Her name popped up on the Tuesday, December 20 credits as the show’s newest supervising producer, so she’s been in place for approximately six weeks.
If de Cazotte’s name doesn’t sound familiar to you (she previously went by the handle Lisa Hesser), the many soaps she’s worked on certainly should! She began her soap career in New York, working on One Life to Live, eventually becoming the show’s coordinating producer.
She then moved west to become a producer on Santa Barbara where she worked with Steve Kent, who now oversees Y&R and Days of Our Lives for Sony Pictures Television as senior executive vice president, programming.
De Cazotte’s other credits include being a producer on the Aaron Spelling series Sunset Beach. Her longest running gig was at Passions, where she was executive producer for most of the show’s run. She also produced the critically-acclaimed General Hospital: Night Shift for SOAPnet.
The veteran producer had two stints at All My Children, too. The first one was in the mid-90s, and she returned to Pine Valley after Night Shift wrapped up.
De Cazotte’s most recent gig was at DAYS, where she was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for four years in a row, taking home the gold in 2013 and 2015.
What does de Cazotte’s presence at Y&R mean? In today’s world, it’s more important than ever that soaps stay under budget and complete daily production on time. Given de Cazotte’s resume, we can safely say that Y&R is in capable hands!
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
